B Muns says:

I own a 2014 VW GLI and drive Uber. I have 226,000 miles on my car. I change my oil every 5K miles with Liqui Moly synthetic and car runs great. When I wanted to properly maintain my dsg transmission wear parts my local Southern California VW dealer wanted $1,300 for a replacement clutch kit I got for $600 (OEM) and they wanted $1,000 for a dual mass flywheel I got for $300. They have also increased their labor rate to well over $200/hr which is ridiculous. I found a great shop 25 miles away that specializes in Porsche/Audi/VW for $100/hr and have never looked back. Always price shop for parts. OEM is always better, but the prices for OE parts without the VW badge will save you tons of money.

Kevin Ducharme says:

Carvana buyers beware of buying sight unseen. As an independent repair shop we helped out a long term customer with a carvana limited warranty on the car they had just purchased. 1st they had to take their British car to a speedy or pepboys for a check engine light per Carvana's approved shop. Those shops wanted nothing to do with a British car with 4 engine trouble code. Needless to say. Extended warranty Co was frustrating to deal with but we got it done with minimal customer expense. However 4 months into car ownership it's back for a battery, needs 4 tires, back up camera wiring harness repair and just popped a converter code. Please buy from local dealer or at least make sure Carvana purchase is new enough to be under manufacturer warranty.

Rodney Booth says:

Not sure if it was a spoof but someone had a video on of a dude using a Honda generator to charge his Tesla on the street.

Rodney Booth says:

Watch his channel all the time and wish I had started watching him long ago. WTG!

Enrico Crevecoeur says:

So glad for my 6th gen honda civic. Just did a transmission my self. Cost me like, 200 bucks.

Michael MJL says:

talking about Toyota car care, how is the JDM import market doing considering the cars are usually lower in mileage, and Japan enforces strict maintenance levels in their SHAKEN program… right hand drive notwithstanding lol.

Keith Rodgers says:

The real problem is workers out with Covid-19 and need to isolate. The media claims everything is approaching normal which is a downright lie. Just because you have stopped testing does not mean things have improved.

Dogphlap says:

No future for these guys, the Chinese are coming.

Edwin Brown says:

O,keep it up

Jesus Garcia says:

Something to think about. Now that companies see the “uninformed middle-class” paying whatever to take care of a problem, being new car, used car, used parts or a 50 year old home; the people at the top will charge anything they want.

For example, if war breaks out, a multimillionaire will pay all kinds of dollars for security, food supplies and water. All of a sudden it is about survival. And frankly, you could not eat a dollar to stay alive.

Thats whats going in right now.

That is why the rich are scooping up homes. I mean wouldn’t you? What will dollars be worth in an environment where you cant build anymore homes?

fordwindsor351 says:

On one end though shop supplies is what a shop needs to do their jobs, its called overhead and its just another way to rob the customer.

Leftenant Malachi says:

Knowing how to do your own car's basic maintenance is huge.

John Hiram says:

Hybrids make sense but a 100% EV vehicle does not. The infrastructure just isn't there. Great video.

no pe says:

dealer service has been crooked forever

no pe says:

would rather put 2k into my 05 then pay 13k for a 10 year old car with 80k miles, also would rather have a root canal then talk to anyone at a dealership, smiling crooks are nauseating

Kraziken0 says:

Interesting that $60+ oil change is a loss or break even. I bought from a dealer that offers a lifetime free oil change service. I have a GT350. So that is 10 quarts of full synthetic oil
