This is the complete engine replacement from my 2008 BMW E90 335i… from the very first bolt to the final installation.

What started as a catastrophic N54 engine failure turned into the biggest project I’ve ever tackled on this channel. Instead of pulling the engine out from the top like most people do, I removed the entire drivetrain from underneath using a hydraulic lift table—engine, transmission, and front subframe all at once.

Over the course of this project, I document every major step of replacing a BMW N54 engine, including drivetrain removal, engine teardown, transferring reusable components, installing brand new OE Mitsubishi turbochargers, replacing the rear main seal, verifying engine timing, refreshing Index 12 injectors with new Teflon seals, replacing the valve cover gasket, installing the water pump and thermostat, repairing the engine wiring harness, assembling the drivetrain, and finally reinstalling everything back into the car.

This isn’t a highlight reel or a time-lapse. It’s the complete process—including the setbacks, specialty tools, torque procedures, and countless small details that most videos leave out.
