For the people doing this at home: You can also jack the car up, loosen the stuf and put the new one in. Next let the car down and than drive it up your car ramp, get underneath and thighten the bolts.

Hi do you sell this little car?

delakota555 says:

There are TWO THINGS WRONG with this video…

1) You do not need to remove the ball joint (as others have posted below). If you have your Yaris supported on axle stands, use your trolley jack and a strong piece of wood (if the wood has a square profile use a knife to remove the corners) inserted through the hole in the wishbone and gently push the anti-roll/sway bar upwards so you have sufficient clearance to insert the droplink with rubbers and washers. Afterwards, lower the anti-roll bar and fit the remaining rubbers, washers and nuts to the top of the anti roll bar and the underside of the wishbone. Much better and easier to do this. Why make the job more complicated?

2) The assembly of the drop link looks to be incorrect. Most kits I have seen consist of the threaded rod, four rubbers, one large cup washer, four smaller cup washers and two nylon locking nuts. Certainly the Blueprint ADT38555 is like this and the original Toyota part although there are kits with two large washers which locate either side of the wishbone. In this video the large washer is incorrect (unless a kit which consists of two large washers is used?) and the washers which sit before the nuts need to be inverted (nut located inside the recess of the cup washer not against the convex side). If you need clarification see below:

I hope this helps. If anybody thinks I am wrong please feel free to chime in…

EDDIE CASH says:

In reference to your install of the drop links for Toyota Yaris XP10, @ 2:47 on the video you show that the large fanged washer goes on top of the wishbone, where as in fact it should be underneath the wishbone as shown in Toyota's exploded view in the link:-

Please check as you could be providing the wrong information…. Thanks.

I thought the guy could at least smile once maybe it was like watching someone waiting for an execution.

nathan latham says:

the only issue i have is the video does not show the torque factor of the sway bar nut? any one any idea?

Dar Pau says:

Is this the same as my 2004 Toyota Echo (Canada)?

Is this the same as a "Sway bar" or are roll bars something different?
