Subaru Impreza 2.5RS/GC8 [aka RSTi] front seat restoration DiY walk-through and installation in my 1998 RS Coupe, with time-lapse scenes included. The “Pro Tips” included in this video apply to all makes and models.
This video is part of a “Build Series” (see “Playlists” tab for all videos in the series) for my rare 1998 RSTi Coupe (i.e., Impreza 2.5RS Coupe swapped with a EJ205 Turbo Engine). I try to make every video the BEST VIDEO TUTORIAL or HOW-TO VIDEO available for that specific topic, that way each video can stand alone and can be used as a technical resource for Subaru enthusiasts all over the world. I’m also constantly working to improve my videos, learn new technical skills, and embrace new technologies, so you can expect to see my videos evolve and improve over time.
*2020 UPDATE: I’m going full time! After working as Professional Hydrogeologist for 15 years (see the “About” tab for more information about my background), I found myself officially “out of work” due to small business shutdowns and associated impacts from the 2020 COVID Pandemic. This gave me the ‘opportunity’ to re-evaluate my career path and how rewarding the experience had been working for large corporations. I decided to make a big change. Hey dude,
Cool build series, and well made, detailed videos.
I came across your channel yesterday and wanted to ask you a question. What size is the fuel line in a 2006 impreza wagon? (Not sure if 3/8 or 5/16)
I noticed a leak by the rear driver side wheel, where the three fuel lines go up into the car through a grommet into the rear seat area. It's the Yellow line (high pressure line?) right at the connector (not sure which type of connector exactly).
I've been looking into various diy solutions and was gonna off just before the connector and slide fuel injector hose over the line, and secure with a fuel injector clamp or two. (Not sure which size fuel injector hose would fit over the hard line nice and tight).
That line then continues back to the gas tank, right? I don't think that portion of the line is metal though, so I might be able to use a barbed coupler or some other, proper connection.
What do you think? I'd appreciate any advice.

Whats the reasoning behind putting the RS seats into a car that has essentially been rebuilt as a WRX? Coming from an aussie, that seems to cheapen the whole look of the car but I may be spoilt with an abundant supply of JDM/ADM seats that are 200 bucks a set. Have you not been able to find another set, such as version 7 STI etc?
Vehicle looks great. My son has a 2003 bug eye. Together we removed vacuumed and steamed cleaned the interior. It’s amazing and looks new. The seat belts were scrubbed with warm soapy water. They function as new. Working on my 2004 forester xt and 2012 Impreza keeps us busy. Subarus enthusiast we are. It’s a great father son bonding relationship.
