I FIXED MY WD-65734 I had the same problem I read anything and everything i could find on why it wont turn on heard people try 2 and 3 different bulbs with no luck and thought i might have to put in a ballast. finally someone posted to get a genuine bulb not the cheap ones. I bought the philips brand bulb 915p061010 lamp Fired right up. Hope this helps someone Good luck
I know its a bit late sorry didn’t look at date.
Did you look at your fans it might be stuck. I had a similar problem I replace my Bulb the wires and I cut a piece of plastic witch fell in to the fan, that wouldn’t allow the fan to spin. It has two fans check them and see.
Did anyone ever explain to you what was going on with your tv? Experiencing this isssue now. :-(
you still have a bad lamp.
Has anybody found solution for this problem?
Mine is doing the same thing. Right now I have it tore apart and looking at the ballast. Have you replaced that yet. I’ve seen them for about $100. Please reply. Thanks
Cool will do. Sorry to keep blowing you up here, but I’m assuming you bought the bulb on line. Website?
Make sure you clean the fans for the bulb.
The bulb cost me $57.00
Sweet…I’ll give mine a shot then. You get a good deal on the lamp?
Installed a new lamp today and I had to reset the tv five times before it worked for me ? Its been Two hours now and working good.
I’m haveing the exact same problem with my Mitsubishi DLP. I bought my tv back in 2008 and the original bulb lasted 4 years and finally blew in mid-October. The warranty from Best Buy/Geek Squad was still good and they sent me a replacement bulb. Well the replacement bulb blew last night and it didn’t last 2 months. My tv is doing the exact same thing that yours is doing in the video. Is this a freak coincidence or is there something else wrong with my tv? Any help would be appreciated.
my TV is a Mitsubishi WD-57733 and is doing the exact same thing. Same cartoon bomb dropping noise, ballast sparking and everything. Did you ever find a solution? The error code is “66” which says it’s the lamp but I’m worried about ordering one now since you say it didn’t fix yours. I’ve heard it could be the ballast but I can’t seem to find one for sale anywhere, not this model anyway.
66 Lamp did not start. Bad lamp or lamp ballast
Solution is replace the ballast that connects to the lamp 🙂
I am having this same issue with mine. Replaced bulb. Contacted Mitsubishi said it sounds like ballast may be going out
Mine done the same thing a few months ago and I put a new bulb in and that’s the way mine does.. It’s been sitting over there collecting dust. I will soon haul it’s ass off bad as I hate to. But I’m lost I don’t know what else to do…
I had the same problem. I read somewhere that you need to read the users manual to actually RESET the red bulb light after you’ve installed the new bulb. What price did you pay for the bulb? I’ve found from $36-$179! Not sure what the differences are, I made sure they weren’t refurbished, included housing, and weren’t off-brand as far as I could tell…so I ordered the cheap one today. Hope installation is easy….
Mine is doing the exact same thing. No solution yet?
we are having the sam problem with our 73 inch 73827. frustrating as we are in costa rica.
the lamp has been replaced twice with the same result.
Hi. I haven’t found a solution yet. I ended up buying a new TV, but I still want to keep this one for another room in the house. I haven’t given up on it yet. I’m just not in as big a hurry. When I have more info I’ll pass it along.
That is exactly what mine does have u found what the issue is yet plz help just put in a new lamp
You figure out the issue yet? Mine is still in my garage collecting dust.
My 57″ does the exact same thing. I have no idea what’s going on with it. It’s a WD-Y577.
