Thanks a lot. You are just awesome!

The DarkDragonWing says:

Here is what I found on eBay
Denso sensors for 2003 lancer
Upstream 234-4739
Downstream 234-4642

Michael Qingru says:

Thumb up!! What is the model# for the O2 sensor? There are lots of Denso parts for this vehicle.

The DarkDragonWing says:

I see. Thanks. I think eventually I will have to change the fuel filter on my car sometime in the future.

Cheers

Dublin Life says:

Hello and thanks for your rude replay .

suppose i am not that’s desperate to know how to change it .but i did search all over the internet to find video but i couldn’t find one. so i thought you might be interested to show all youtuber how to replace it .anyway thanks and good luck

The DarkDragonWing says:

Hi. He was just showing how to disassemble/reassemble the IAC so that you can clean the inside or you can change the parts that need to be changed.
.
If you don’t wanna mess with it, I would say clean it like I did at 2:19
.
Or you can buy a cheap non-OEM one on eBay.com for $40, but I don’t know if it’s any good.

The DarkDragonWing says:

Hi, sorry I don’t think will show you that. I only fix things that need to be fixed on my car.
Thanks, cheers!

The DarkDragonWing says:

nice! Go with the DENSO brand if you can. Cheers!

The DarkDragonWing says:

No problem cheers!

Adan's Channel says:

Hey man, nice video, it helped me a lot! Thanks !!

Vermonster90 says:

Mack, Great video… I have to change the O2 Sensors on my 2004 Endeavor. Dealer wants $595 to do it. I think I might try it myself thanks to your video.

Dublin Life says:

Hello Mack
I love your video-I have lancer glx 1.3 12 valve -years 2000-125 thousand miles on it .
would you post video show us how to replace fuel filter on your model .i am trying to change mein but not sure how.

Regards for Ireland

waterhorse66 says:

Mack, it turned out my IAC valve is shut. However, I do suspect its just stuck and wanted to take it apart. I read somewhere that its the small bearing that go bad when its lubrication runs out. I searched and I found a guy doing exactly the same BUT its in Thai! Just my luck. Would you be able to translate what he was saying? Thanks! Link: youtube.com/watch?v=PiOSKn4Yp2A

The DarkDragonWing says:

Nice! no problem

waterhorse66 says:

Hello Mack, thank you very much for all your advice and pointers! I’m down to the PTS and will probably do smoke machine test for leaks. Hopefully I can get my Lancer smog soon. 🙂

The DarkDragonWing says:

yes

djchorizo92 says:

Hey I have the same code p0421 .that is the code you had correct?

The DarkDragonWing says:

At 3:25 underneath the car. And the plug is under the passenger’s left foot (inside the car).

Uriel Deguzman says:

Hey man, could you please let me know where the oxygen sensor which is underneath the car specifically located?

The DarkDragonWing says:

Yes Thanks! I got one obd-II scanner now
Cheers!

Daniel Ramirez says:

your one badass chino doing all that work. invest in a obd-II scanner saves all lot of time

The DarkDragonWing says:

haha i see. alright, will see if the denso will do it better than the bosch. I’m not sure if it’s the bosch, but you gotta try.

The DarkDragonWing says:

thanks man
cheers!

nick lopez says:

Great job dude I subscribed to your Chanel

Arnold Phavong says:

bank 1 and i did erase the code =p so i ordered denso upstream one and wont get it in like 4 days hahaha so u think bosch is the problem? i just got it cuz the shop doesnt have denso

The DarkDragonWing says:

You should erase the code again and see if the code will show up. Man it’s hard to tell, I wanna say it’s the downstream but…it’s DENSO! There should be no problem!
.
By the way, did it say “bank 1” or “bank 2”?
.
bank1 = upstream
Bank2 = downstream

Arnold Phavong says:

hi i got a problem with my 04 lancer 2.0L the code that came up was p0421 so i got my cat converter changed, clean the egr valve and air flow sensor, and i change the o2 sensors the upstream is made from bosch the down stream is denso, do u think the problem is the bosch brand? cuz the p0421 code still shows up

The DarkDragonWing says:

Maybe the EGR is dirty, you need to clean it, or maybe you need to change both of the O2 sensors.

The DarkDragonWing says:

Yea man, I do teach myself working on cars.
Cheers

Phillip Sanchez says:

dang bro youre good, did u teach yourself to work on cars?

shady ramsaran says:

hey, i have a lancer ck4, i have a rough idle, when I start it in the morning it idles normal, but once i drive it and place it in park or neutral the idle goes up to 2 on the RPM Gage. i cleaned the Throttle Body and that helped for a day and the problem came back. i did a diagnostic and nothing came up. Can you advise me on what to do.

The DarkDragonWing says:

No, I haven’t got the SRS light off yet.
.
And yes, if they say it fits, it should fit. 🙂

waterhorse66 says:

Did you get your srs light off?

Btw, I was watching this video on how to change the valve cover gasket when I noticed the one I ordered from Pepboys (they recommended it) is kind of different in shape. Its VS 50723 R gasket plus 4 tube gaskets. Is this the right kind? Thank you very much! 🙂

The DarkDragonWing says:

Does the Engine light show up?

Aviacpas says:

hello, I have a problem with my 2005 Lancer 1.6 liter engine in engine speed.
From first to fourth gear the car no problem revolutions reach the tachometer red.

But in fifth the car does not allow more than 3500 revolutions happen if I accelerate to everything allowed ..

I you can help because of this failure? if I do what you indicate here could you remove?

thanks friend.
Hernan / / Mexico

The DarkDragonWing says:

That’s good. Yes, it it normal. The RPM at idle will be low when the engine is warmer. Once you change the O2 it will even be better.

waterhorse66 says:

Hey Mack, here’s an update from my Lancer:

1. Turns out my radiator fan motor is fried. Have to buy the motor.
2. I cleaned the MAF, EGR and Throttle Body and Air Intake and the engine works wonderful now. But for some reason, the idle rpm tends to go up a bit. Is this normal after cleaning the sensors?
3. This weekend is for the O2 sensors.

Man, I saved a lot big Thanks to you! 🙂

waterhorse66 says:

Thank you!
I’ll check if that fan is not fried. I’ll use small jumper cable (#18 gauge) and check if it has still life in it. I’ll let you know. 🙂

waterhorse66 says:

You are the best!
I may be asking more questions later as I try to learn how to fix my 03 Lancer, if you don’t mind. Thank you!

The DarkDragonWing says:

No, they are different. There is Denso O2 DOWNSTREAM and there is Denso O2 UPSTREAM.
.
So go find it. Denso is OEM brand for Mitsubishi Lancer O2 sensors.
.
Go to ebay.com and search for:
Denso O2 Oxygen Sensor UPSTREAM Driver Left Side New LH Hand 234-4739
.
Cheers

The DarkDragonWing says:

There are two fans right? So only one running? Well I guess you should check if that fan is not working. Technically, both fans should stop/or running at the same time. (you should do more research, I can only guess)

waterhorse66 says:

Hello Mack, more questions:

Is the O2 sensor upstream and downstream interchangeable (2003 Lancer ES)? Are they the same part? What kind of cleaner did you use to clean your car’s EGR?

I looked at online and all I can find is Denso O2 sensor DOWNSTREAM.
HELP!

Thank you.

waterhorse66 says:

Thank you very much for posting! I have the same car as yours but just recently one of my engine cooling fan stopped working. Facing the car front, its the one on the left side (passenger side). The right fan is still working.
Couple of questions: Do you have any idea what’s the problem maybe? Should I replace the Fan Controller Module? Thank you for your time.

The DarkDragonWing says:

You mean the brand of the O2 sensors? The OEM brand for that is Denso.
