Good information. But the system is pneumatic. The oil reservoir is
probably for lubrication. That small amount of fluid is not sufficient to
actuate the whole system.

if your remote does not open your trunk but the soft close on the doors is
still working then you have inadvertantly looked the trunk, possiblly but
trying to open it too much with the remote when you discovered it is not
working, so all you have to do is use the key from the remote. stick it in
the trunk key hole and turn to left and push up. the trunk will open and
the alarm should sound if it is operative. reset alarm and close trunk.
don’t panic and run to get it fixed or you may get beat
