I have a manual 2005 Mazda3 hatchback, which I bought it a week ago. It's mechanically unmodified. But recently, on the highway, starting around 65-70mph, I feel this constant shuddering/vibration, as if I were driving over a rough/corrugated surface. I can let go of the steering wheel, and it will still drive perfectly straight, but the wheel still vibrates noticeably. I don't offhand notice any vibration or sounds at lower around-town speeds. I had the wheels rebalanced today (they did find that it was off a bit), but the vibration continues. This is just a commuter car, so I've never driven it hard, and it's still basically a new car, so it seems unlikely that the bearings or brakes would be at fault. Please do you have any ideas what the culprit might be, or where to go from here?? ^^

I swear, I feel like something bad will happen at any moment while driving on the freeway, which makes for a tense daily commute! I'd almost say the handling feels slightly less stable on the highway too (dunno if anyone else would notice it though). I doubt it's relevant, but a month ago, I did have one of the rear tires professionally patched for a nail in it. Since the vibration is making its way up through the steering wheel, that suggests it's something up with the front of the car. Otherwise, I can't think of anything recent that could cause such a mysterious problem.

Ray, you saved me a ton from the dealership and countless hours of frustration with your tips on jack placement. Thanks you so much for a really thorough video. I did all three mounts, since I was there anyway, but my passenger mount fell apart when I removed it! Absolutely necessary fix.
