HI, I own a kia optima also. Do you think installing the HID lights without the dust cover is fine? I just dont want to drill a hole on the dust cover.

Zach Peterson says:

Of course he only shows the passenger side since there’s no obtrusive battery on that side. Where is the stock signal connector he refers to at 8:47?

Andyshole says:

So naturally i was pretty pissed. Anyways, my question here is will it work like stock HID’s with the relay? And if so, also is the focal point perfect so it has the proper light projection/ height as stock hid’s? I’m very interested in driving up to LA and getting these done. I live in OC, south county.

Nice video, I was starting to think I was out of luck. My wife bought a 2011 kia optima EX hybrid back in 2011. Kia was saying we couldn’t put HID’s in because it wasn’t tested with the hybrid battery, and i called bullshit the night we bought the car. Since 2011 every time we had it serviced i asked about hybird HID’s and still some bullshit excuse; well last month i drove by an identical model hybrid, color, model and package (not sure if it was a 2011) and it had HID’s…

Miguel Badillo Bonilla says:

hello how are you, I want to install xenon lights in the fog of a Hyundai Accent 2012, my question is: I have to use a relay or directly do the lights socket

thanks

mmbnyc2003 says:

check your ground, your ballasts and your bulbs.. on my setup the “accessory cable” does go to the battery, and the relay itself plugs into the fuse box,, no stock harness on the aftermarket fogs.

mmbnyc2003 says:

not saying your wrong,, but I have aftermarket fogs and a sound system wired to the positive terminal, and I have not noticed “flickering” perhaps I just got lucky.

mmbnyc2003 says:

Would the ballast not be enough to regulate the power of 12v @ 55watts on two 20A fuses?

mmbnyc2003 says:

I just noticing that more than a relay, he has an “accessory” kit to that thing, meaning a direct power feed from the battery, and that under HIS setup, the only responsibility the factory wiring has is to power the relay,, and that sounds safer and better than not having a relay and cable!! STILL, I wonder if it can be done without the relay and accessory cable???,, as I already have “accessory cables” from a system and other aftermarket lights connected to the positive terminal

Paige Galloway says:

Would it be a similar install for a 2010 Kia Soul?

AWSSSUCK says:

If I m using single light 55w 6000k, do I need relay harness or Can I use both relay harness and anti flicker warning canceller.thx

Travis C says:

on my sx there is a screw on the dust cover. my sx came with HID lights but I wanted a different color temp.

Thug9030 says:

bob ren Sy says:

can u recommend which video for installing HIV for nissan navara

Christopher Ingrassia says:

Hah! Well, I WAS interested in this mod for my SX, but not anymore. That’s a seriously involved project, and way out of my comfort zone.

fireworkfreak100 says:

could you make a vid of how to install these kits on dacia duster/opel combo?

lbounds111 says:

Where did you get the LED fog lights?

themightycorndogs says:

I’ve got a 2013 optima. Do I need to remove the battery for the driver side? it looks like a major pain in the @ss.

Tony Guerrero says:

Can you hid’s for fog lights?

nappydrew says:

If you wire the harness to the battery as this guy suggests you will get flickering…..Trust me, I just spent several hours of my life wiring these up, and if you install and HID kit in an 2011+ Optima, it is crucial that you hook the positive wire from the harness to the main wire going into the fuse box, NOT THE BATTERY! These cars have a battery conditioner on the + terminal of the battery, and WILL flicker.
BTW, go to VVME and pick up their HID’s instead, they’re cheaper, and VERY bright.

GianniEndo says:

I just recently bought an h11 hid kit for the 2012 kia optima..now i just wondering, this might sound stupid, my kit did not include a relay kit..is this required for the actual lightbulbs to function? Im assuming it is cuz some sort of cables need to be running from the battery to the ballast. I am no mechanic so i am in need of professional assistance…

Anthony Flores says:

Is the ballast a 55w or 35w?

sam pirzad says:

thats weird… my car already has xenons on them. Came like that from the dealer. lucky me i guess 🙂

Tony Jun says:

is there a “how to” video about installing the HID fog lights??

Odai Daghustani says:

does it fit on Kia Cadenza (K7) 2012 ?

pittsburghsteeler25 says:

hey i have a 2012 kia optima sx, it already has the factory HID in the low beam but i want to match the fog lights to the head lights. do you have to do the same set up because i have installed a relay kit with it and it work perfectly but then after awhile the fog lights would stay on even after you shut the car off. i eventually found the relay had been stuck on and would keep the bulbs on. i found that out by replacing the relay then i found the relay would continuously click. any help please

paulies321 says:

techdude6693 says:

They do. Its standard on SX Trims.

XenonSupply says:

Yes, you may. Just call before you come.

bmwmsport11 says:

Car is too cheap to put HIDs on. Just saying…actually doesn’t Kia offer HIDs as an option?

SBFlashlightGuy says:

MichaelB450 says:
