The dealership where I live charges $169.00 to do this. Majority of that is the labor which is $137.00 per hour. I could buy a cabin filter for 20 bucks and now I have saved $149.00!

filterheads says:

The arrow on the old filter indicates the orientation of the filter. Our arrow points in the direction of the air flow. The air flows down through the filter and the dust and pollen collect on the top.

Edwin Gonzalez says:

Why the old filter has the arrow up, and the instruction mentioned the arrow down?

Nick Disabatino says:

Thanks for this excellent video; couldn’t have removed the glove box w/o it. One point to make: Make sure that the filter is flush against the top of the chamber (where the air is flowing in). Flush not only in the front, but, also in the back. There is a small ledge located in the back of the chamber housing that the filter can rest on. Be sure to rest it there first, and then install the chamber door making sure the front of the filter is also flush against the top of the chamber’s housing.

You would think an 06 model vehicle would be easier to change. This is as difficult as some pre 2000 models. 🙁

NoYourWrong1 says:

god damn that’s work, I had a lexus before and it took me less than 5 minutes to change it…

Canm4 says:

I appreciate this video so much. Whats in my wallet? More money. I couldn’t fathom giving the stealership money for filter replacement. I can do this!!!

virgil smith says:

they make it hard enough

filterheads says:

It should work on the M35 and M45 06-10. We don’t have any filter catalogued for the newer M models.

mezanine10 says:

you think this would work on the M class too?

filterheads says:

Awesome!

elisapasta1 says:

Thank you! You made this video very easy. I was able to do it myself!

Blackzilla says:

thanks for answering. great video keep up the good work!

filterheads says:

We normally recommend changing your cabin filter once every year or every 15,000 miles. Depending on where you live you may want to change the filter more often. I would make sure to check the filter after a few months and see how dirty it is.

Blackzilla says:

great video but how do you know when to replace that filter other than just looking at it

filterheads says:

Thank you for the information! Although a lot of these procedures are the same, there are always a few vehicles that have more steps.

crackmaw says:

great video
if doing this on a GT-R then it has 3 extra screws behind the actual glove box door.
You have to pull on the bottom of the door to pull it out turn sideways to get it off the stoppers. then remove the extra screws and remove the rest of the panel

filterheads says:

The arrows on our filters indicate the direction of airflow, while some other manufacturers put arrows on their filters indicating the orientation of the arrow after installation. The original filter had an arrow pointing up as in “this side up”. Our filter is showing you which direction the air will flow.

Scott Walsh says:

The original Nissan filter has its arrow pointing up but you say to insert the replacement filter with the arrow pointing down. Is this correct? What is the direction of the the airflow?

magebi1984 says:

nice video!

OptimisticView says:

Very helpful video but I did eviled9999’s extra step. I opened the glove box and plulled the door box towards me to pull it off the hinges/pins. I recomend disconnecting the support cable on the left side first. Removing the box/door makes there no need for an extended screw driver.

Ken Karg says:

Awesome video…saved me $118.00 dealer quoted to replace.

Franklin Gutierrez says:

Thanks for the video, I just did it on a 2007 G35S Sedan.
Same procedure.

MegaGalushka says:

Nice video! Thank you very much. Saved me at least $70 if I went to a dealership.

Ed Villarreal says:

I have a ’10 G37 and was able to remove the glove box door itself by turning it at an angle so the pegs on both sides were able to clear the slots. This made it much easier to get to the screws in the lower corners of the glovebox assembly. Otherwise, very good video.

filterheads says:

We just updated our database today, and now have coverage up to the 2011 model.

Mike Lloyd says:

Hey, I went to your website, but you don’t carry any filters for the G37 models above 2008. Any expected arrival dates?

Erik Peterson says:

worked like a charm…
