I thought you solved my problem trying to deal with those springy pad clips by taking whole component off (good idea). But I still had to cut them off one bracket to get pads on. I can’t make any sense of those just making it difficult to replace pads

@kevingranger9063 says:

Is there anything that needs to be done with the electronic parking break or did I miss that part?

@3dhaus says:

Please, for your own safety, ALWAYS get a jack stand under there to rest the vehicle on. Never let the floor jack stay under constant load like that. When they fail (and it has happened) they fail *instantly*. 2:00 Never mind. I see you finally did.

@Hef-709 says:

Wear indicator is usually on the leading edge, although I’ve had vehicle manuals that said the opposite. So top on front.

@Hef-709 says:

Don’t be concerned with those screws, if they strip just drill the head off and don’t bother to replace them, they are only there to hold the rotor in place during factory assembly

@dogman8436 says:

When you push back pistons open bleeder so old dirty fluid does not go back to master cylinder. Also before pushing pistons back carefully lift boots and spray silicone underneath. Good time to flush brakes with new fluid. Pump pedal and Top up master before driving car.

Those rotors are crazy expensive right now. WOW!

excellent video

@mikef8118 says:

Clean off the hub with wire brush and apply anti seize. Will make next brake job much easier.

@n7hevn says:

Bro, you should be wearing gloves, when spraying that cleaner on yourself. Over the years, if you keep doing it, those chemicals are going to eat your skin terribly.

@angelsanchez9877 says:

You don’t have to remove the brake fluid reservoir cap while pumping the brakes or when pushing the caliper pistons back in ?

@popshotrodgarage says:

Awesome video but I got to be a stick in the mud with all those good parts you took off I think I would be looking at something between the face of the hub and the rotor you possibly will still have the same issue after replacing all those parts maybe you did it and didn't include it in your video

@chopmeatchuck says:

Thank you for this! Makes it not so intimidating

@henrimoser7328 says:

How close do you think this would be to a 2022 Hyundai Venue (for front brake rotor/pads)? Thanks!

@789295 says:

Good point about rotating the steering for easier access.

I would also clean the surface of the hub before placing the new rotor onto it. Saves any potential run out problem from rust or dirt that makes you think you have warped rotors.

Squealer tab should be on the first leading edge of the pad in the direction of rotation.

You might look up the correct torque settings for those bolts among the brake parts instead of just a quick rat-tat-tat.

@johndaubenschmidt8871 says:

Got a 4-wheel to do soon. Nice overview.

@candaceppool7829 says:

What happens if the squealer is positioned wrong?
