Car won’t start and you lost all electrical power? Check the fusible link. A fusible link is just like any other car fuse, but instead of being plastic, it is a thin wire with a thick insulator. To properly connect a fusible link you need to use a crimp, solder, and shrink-wrap the connection.

14 gauge thick yellow wire connected to a Mustang II starter solenoid is burnt butt doesn’t look like it got pass the black fusable link. Do i need to replace the whole wire or cut below the fusable link a few inches and add a new fusible link wire.

I've got a serious problem on my hands. 08 Ford F-150 4.6Liter.went through one liter of coolant within 2 weeks.coolant splashed everywhere underneath the hood with shorted out my alternator. Replaced it with a used one it still won't run and it's still draining energy from somewhere which ruined a brand new battery under less than one week.changed the battery/alternator inline fusible link wire and it's still doing it. Is there a fuse for the alternator to check/change? how many inline fusible links are there in this truck? Even with my years of vehicle experience this has me stumped.

OK, so I’m having this exact problem with my 2006 Cadillac BTS so my husband came home from work one day turn the car off went to go to work. The next day car would not start. There is no headlights no horn it will not turn over it’s like Like the car lot shut the car off because the payment wasn’t made if it was from a car lot and not owned outright anyway I cannot find my fusible links anywhere. They are not next to the battery which the batteries in the backseat they are not under the hood where the battery goes so I’m at a loss. Can anybody please help me?

My rav was jump started with cables hook up wrong. It's parked and melted end of cable.set all codes so got codes cleared but tried to start it but it would Rev up.and set throttle body code.but it ia cost 400.oo dollars so I want to make sure that's the,problem. Checked all the fuses they showw good.does the rav have fuse links? Iam 74 and have copd and diabetes unable to get around much.

Wait, so once it burns up it's done or does one time burn out completely, cause my truck is losing power like yours and completely then a couple hours later gets it back… But I won't go driving it as it will fail again

Turned out to be the main lug going to the positive terminal. 10$ fix .It was not the fusible links.
