Haven’t been here in a while, but to those who benefited from the info,
glad to hear it… Also….. Who the heck is Eric !?!?!?!?!? Lol

Todd Golling says:

Hey great video. I have same code dropped; so to review my parts list
includes two knock sensors; harness; and intake manifold gaskets, correct?
Where did you get your parts? And what was total time commitment? Thanks
for making this.

pimomoso says:

Heyyyy Sr, Gooddddddddd video thanks congratulations.

Stacy Schwall says:

Never mind. Forgot to hook a hose up. And do not know why it post twice.
Thanks though!

Big Mac says:

Can anyone direct me to replacing the knock sensor on my 2005 Chevrolet
trailblazer? If it’s anything like this, I’ll pay someone to do it! lol
Seems like a lot of steps for one little sensor….

Libstomper says:

Thanks man I’m doing mine tomorrow. I also would like to suck your nipples.

Donny Johnson says:

so did that fix the p0332

Dennis Hann says:

great video, thanks!

TrueRomance5 says:

Great Vid. Thanks

Jeroen Pipelers says:

I love you Eric, I would love to suck you nipples, imagine me doing this as
a thanks. I repaired my whole car thanks to you. Eric, I love to suck your
titties.

Hernandez Family says:

Thank you for the video. I have an 02′ GMC Sierra that I bought new back in
02 and like all things they start to require some maintenance. My knock
sensors need replacing so gonna start this project next weekend. Thanks for
the help.

Robert Steinle says:

Hey bro. I just thought that I would thank you for this video. I like you
thought it would be extremely difficult to replace the sensors. I took the
truck back to the dealership and had the work quoted and the deal or told
me about 600 dollars for parts and labor. I said no thank you and went to
Orileys and paid. 200 for that parts and spent about 2 hours performing
the work. With the assistance of your video.

Gary Garcia says:

@blackmuttracing- i’m glad you found the video helpful, thank you for
watching

Babii Gurl says:

I’ve got a 04 silverado with a 4.8l and same SHYT happened to my truck
tjises damn knock sensors r a bitch why didn’t they put them on the side
instead of under the intake manifold smh oh well ay bro ur video helps out
alot kno I don’t have to pay $200 for a mechanic to replace wat I can do
thanks very much

David Fuller says:

is that an transplant engine?

Gary Garcia says:

@rv41vm87 that’s great! If you notice, my truck is a 93 silverado with a
swap 5.3, after I switched the sensors out, I still had a knock issue with
no codes, I purchased a Diablo sport tuner and adjusted the timing +2% and
problem went away, I still can’t figure why it was knocking after the fix.
??

juan esparza says:

good vid! How much does the knock sensors cost for a gmc 03 yukon? Is it
easy to replace?

jeffcougar1968 says:

yep i washed my motor and a hour later i got that code fml lol

Gary Garcia says:

@simonanddawn- that’s great i’m glad the video was helpful

oxmanagain says:

Good video thanks this is just what I needed to see.

Gary Garcia says:

@elfantasma110 make sure you erase the code, it’s a hard fault that needs
to be removed, otherwise it will stay in the pcm fault log

wtfreallynonames says:

Cleaning it won’t prevent future corrosion. I used high temp RTV to seal
mine.

inkedinRl says:

I’m doing mine on my 2001 Tahoe this weekend. Thanks for the video now I
know what I’m getting into

Gary Garcia says:

@wtfreallynomames- what are the specifics about your truck. Is it a swapped
obs, nbs? I’m leaning towards a wiring issue if it’s a swap, or maybe just
clear the codes with a tuner, or elm327 adapter with torque app. Let me know

hobieslug45 says:

good vid . when is gm going to come out with a matching plastic exhaust
manifold

mrwatknz says:

10 minutes ? lol looks like two hours for a guy like me

Gary Garcia says:

@valtierra2966 yeah I got them, so what you need help with?

imnengineer says:

44lbs on 1st pass, 89 lbs. on 2nd pass.

Mike Williams says:

is this done the same way on a 2004 cadillac srx

Gary Garcia says:

@thebigrick30, I did none of those things you just mentioned, please note
this is a 5.3 in a 93 silverado, the 93 drivetrain may require that extra
work.

Swatrecon says:

thanks for the video!

r41vm87 says:

Job done, much thanks for ur video again…the rear “sensor 2” was rusted
horribly and actually still full of water!…the knock went away and she
runs great after a scrub of the intake and throttle body

RaylanR says:

Did you have any problems put in the manifold back, I been fighting the
gaskets on one side it fits and the other is sits on top of the groove so
it doesn’t let me set that side…

Terry Ben says:

Thanks I have a 2005 chevy and the video was very helpful. A note for
cleaning before putting in a new gasket for the air intake. Use a new razor
to scrape the gunk it will take off the gunk and not mar the surface.

Gary Garcia says:

@mystone88 I agree, they could have put them in a more accessible location,
the good thing is since 2007, they are on the side of the block.

Gary Garcia says:

Glad the video helps you out!

TheMoshman12 says:

Great vid just did this today on a 4.8 with no mechanical experience it
took me 3hrs There a few differences in a 4.8 then a 5.3 Well mine was
anyways there were no throttle wires on mine just a clip that you just
unhook From the throttle body also i just unhooked the injectors and left
the fuel rail on those were a bit tricky my knock sensor were not as bad as
yours front look bran new and the back was just starting to go had water in
the back channel so I siliconed the harness covers $65 e

imnengineer says:

My question to you is, did you have to apply any type of rtv sealant to
those teal green intake gaskets? Since I stupidly used the red ones again,
I had to in my case. Just wondering if the teal green ones adhere to the
block via heat. Please let me know, so when mine go out, I will use the
teal green ones. Chevy said that the original red ones degrade over time
because of the material, by the way. Great vid!

Gary Garcia says:

@valtierra2966, my email is skeeter5283@gmail, sour me the pics, interested
in what this stabilize looks like, i’m sure its no big deal, trust me this
fix is cake

Gary Garcia says:

*shoot me some pics

Gary Garcia says:

Hopefully it helps you out!

TheHuntermarks says:

Good video man, looks pretty easy!! How long did the whole process take?

simon gabel says:

i was unsure about doing it until i saw the video and now im fixed and
running down the road with out a problem, thanks so much for your input

Gary Garcia says:

@t2ent- I didn’t pay that close attention to my mileage, the performance
was better after though. And of course no mil light is better too

leewhittingstall says:

What does it sound like if the knock sensors are going is there a
noticeable difference ???

Gary Garcia says:

@cm9103-I have seen the threaded studs that are on the underside of those
knock sensors, I’m not sure if it’s post of the block, definitely not the
valley cover. And there should be no other mechanical parts there except
lifters and rods.

Gary Garcia says:

@thehuntermarks it should only take an hour or two, I took longer because I
was filming and prepping, and fixing the harness for knocks.

TheBigRick30 says:

Did you have to drain the coolant, and release the fuel pressure? I read
online a bunch of different things you had to do first, and those were 2 of
them. Also, did you have to let the engine cool down first, since you were
removing all those tubes, i’m not sure if any of them were coolant/water
lines. Thanks

rene ortiz says:

I need to change mine too but now it’s saying random misfire what could
that b??
