mate i finally got around to trying my front struts. i couldnt even get the
top nut off. i have all the schwaben specialty tools. the steering knuckle
was spread wide open it was very loose i could move it down by pushing on
the brake disc. but it kept going back into place like something was just
holding it up so we got a huge pry bar and just pushed the whole assembly
down and it shot right back up after the strut was removed from knuckle.
what was holding it up? torsion bar? anything you didn’t mention in the
video that you had to undo? the top nut wasn’t a 6 or 8 mm allen key, it
was between, so we filed down a 8mm and tried and it just stripped all the
flats off the allen key hole. how can i fix this now? am i going to have to
crack the nut off? i can’t use one of the usual “nut cracker” tools because
it’s in the little dish of the upper mount? please help.

lowered springs of yours

Love the videos man!! Keep them up!! Can’t wait for some more!!!

Rafael Torchio says:

I did this days before the video was uploaded. In the right side of the car
the axle wont let you get the hub down enought, I had to compress the
spring and push the strut to compress (new) and get it in/out the hub. Pain
in the ash. Mine it’s a Seat toledo, same chasis. Btw nice video!

Hi, great vids by the way, so i have a question.. i have a mk4 golf 2.0
5door hatchback (left hand drive) im looking to lower it on a set of 18inch
audi rs4’s on fk coilovers. from what i’ve been reading on forums some
people have been having problems with the drive shaft grinding on the sway
bar on just a 35mm drop? People are saying you have to upgrade the sway bar
to allow for clearence? Didn’t you have the same problem when dropping it
40mm? if so could you make a vid on how to upgrade the front sway bar or a
removal/refitting vid? I’ve looked everywhere on youtube for a how to do it
vid but there is none on a mk4 golf. Looking forward to hearing back from
you. Cheers

530Calistyle says:

I was trying to do that to mine but the top bolt didnt want to remove the
shock kept moving with it which is the silver thing in the middle & after
trying it for 2 hrs i gave up & put it back.. What do you think its the
problem?

Jetpack Mailing says:

it would be better if u did one wheel at a time.. and position the camera
facing the wheel and not the back of the car. cause i cant see a thing
you’re doing

I have a question about the 409 relay for 99 jetta vr6! Can the relay still
be bad even though it controls the fuel pump and the car still starts? I
took the relay out and i tested it and i dont hear a click and there are
bad burn marks on the metal prongs, but the car still starts! I have a short
to ground b+ issue and people told me to change that relay it could be
halfway bad even though the car still starts because it also controls ecm
elements! I like the new channel also! Cheers

Roy C says:

There is a proper tool for splitting open and allowing the shock to break
free from the hub, about a fiver.
so no more mash hammer.
Plus shouldn’t the top nut be Torqued for top mount..

Ok jay z I see you lol. Bro nice video keep them coming. And upgrade on a
second battery for your impact drill so you can finish the job lol. More

your videos but I didnt see the gas gauge or the gas light on in your video
you was just in the rear dealing with the fuel pump. Well ty in advance jay
z lol.

Nigel Calleja says:

Hey man just a question. dont you have to change the struts aswell. like
that the pressure is on the struts rather than the springs. I’ll be doing
mine soon.
thanks man.

Bob Moore says:

Nice vid, did mine last year (H&R’s). They were much more forgiving after
the first month of use.
Tip for anyone buying spring compressors, try to get trapezoidal threaded
ones. It will save you a lot of ratcheting!

RealGX says:

Bro, have you got two rear shocks available for sale?

Graham Wilson says:

Very cool! Could you maybe do a vid on how to make your electric windows go
down with the remote? I think you do a setting in the car’s software?

Corkoth55 says:

btw, Golf GTI? they don’t badge them that way in north america.. which
engine does this one have?

Mr GShocker says:

Why are you driving with no seatbelt on?

THEJAXEL says:

Top tip I found when have the lower bolt of. Use a flat wide chisel and put
it in to the gap. Then tap it and shock will fall out quickly. Worked a
treat for me.
