how to replace a radiator 1999 GMC suburban

In this video demonstration I go over the steps I take to remove and replace a radiator in a 1999 GMC suburban in real time. This process applies to many makes and models, I don’t follow all the recommended steps just what it takes to get the job in and out. Hope you enjoy

I just bought a 1998 350 and need to pull the engine and couldn't figure out how to take the radiator out for the life of me. This video is so helpful!

Randy Rowe says:

This one doesn't have the 175 amp fuse on the shroud like my Tahoe. I was hoping to see how it was routed. You have great videos. I watched your 5 part video for the Tahoe head gaskets. Just now finishing up and having an issue getting juice for anything. I figure it is that but confused. keep up the good work Will!

Isaak Romero says:

Thanks for the vid man I was able to fix moms suburban. her radiator had busted on the highway.

redneckrenos303 says:

wow, its nighttime and your still working? you must really love your job lol, most mechanics would call it a day by 5 or sooner I would think

Ka'el Lee says:

show me how to replace radiator to 3 flo radiator

Eric Corse says:

Will any idea what that extra port on the radiator is for? Good video.

King Mario RF Reviews says:

man I changed my radiator leaked a lot of tranny and engine oil out of the bottom cooler lines then when I got the new radiator installed I tighten everything up and the brass fitting in the top left was bowed it was oval not round like it should be so I couldn't get the line to screw on I was so pissed never had this much issue .doing a radiator before

WeirdArtSociety Fox says:

I'm gonna watch this all day to convince myself to replace my 97 Yukon radiator by myself. Just a little concerned about the coolant lines. Especially the bottom one.

Mirkka Putnam says:

Thanks for this … new driver of a '93 GMC Suburban … so need to learn a sh*t ton about car care, maintenance and repairs… got my new rad, got my new coolant to refill it… now that I know how this is done and a ballpark on how long this whole process takes I can take it to my mechanic guy and get him to swap it out for me and know if he tries to 'labour' gouge me!! 😛 LOL Thanks again for this thorough how to!!! You rock!!

Nice video, Will. Even though you make it look easy I know that sometimes things can be a pain in the butt. The problem is that as you get older your patients becomes less. I always tell myself that it could be worse however.

stuzman says:

Nice work Will on the rad replacement and good follow-up with checking all of the fluids. Looks like you're pulling some long hours. It was daylight when you started the job, but was pretty dark when you were wrapping it up. Don't work too hard!

Effay513 says:

Great movie!! Thanks Will! Did the test drive go well?

STEVE ROB says:

Good stuff, I just did one of them two months ago I could not get the tranny lines from leaking and I cranked down as hard as I could. I ended up putting Teflon tape on them and it's been leak free . I'm glad I don't make repair vids it never seems to go so good 🙂

Raoul Thomas says:

Great video! That Suburban is so clean. She must live in the garage! Lower intake manifold gasket R&R on a 5.7L GM, what a surprise! 🙂 So the transmission cooler lines and remote oil filter hoses don't have any O-rings going into the radiator?

What a stupid location for the pet cock. Great video
