1aauto says:

With the car in the air you could try to pry on the control arm with a pry bar to see if that works. It should be the same procedure as shown in the video. 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

blackcatbone says:

i had trouble getting to lower part of the strut back into the steering knuckle completely. The more i jack it up, the more my car goes up but not the strut into the steering knuckle.

There is a shipping charge to Canada. When you go to check out, that will be totaled for you. 1aauto.com 888-844-3339

Michael Jamieson says:

I understand you have free shipping on many items, does that include Canada??

al sanchez says:

nice ready to lower my focus

1aauto says:

You should be fine as long as everything comes back together. Either way the car will have to be aligned when you are finished.

Attohertz says:

Thanks for doing this exceptional demonstration. Is it ok if I can separate the strut from the knuckle without removing the tie rod end?

We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows this particular repair. We’ll keep this request in mind in the event that we need to make this repair in the future.

1aauto says:

HI, We currently do not have an auto repair video that shows you how to remove the rear struts on your Ford Focus. If you happen to have a Haynes or a Chiltons manual for the car, the repair should be covered in there for you. Have a great day, 1aauto.com 888-844-3393

SergSkate661 says:

Do you guys have one for the rear shock and spring like a remove and install?

Stephen A. says:

Jimmynitr says:

My focus had both replaced by ford under warranty at 75000 miles on it check with ford first you just might get it a little bitching goes along way

1aauto says:

The car may sag on one side, or you may experiance a harsh ride on one side of the car.

1aauto says:

If the spring is broke you should be able to see it inside of the wheel well.

Adam C. says:

Are strut bearing failures common on the Focus? I suspect I have that problem on my ’05. I’ve got clunking noises from the RF in parking lot type maneuvers. Car only has 93k, and the struts are fine, I also do not believe the spring is broken, so I don’t want to buy a a brand new pair. I’d rather get a bearing plate and some struts spring compressors and disassemble the problem strut assembly. Thoughts?

cs1lax says:

Nothing like alternative methods.

William Whitt says:

What was the symptom that lead to finding a broken spring? Did the car start bouncing or something? Cause that spring – although it was broken – had rust on the ends – which leads me to think that it was broken for a while. Just curious is all – never lost a spring on a vehicle.
