1992 Dodge D250 Cummins diesel JVC Radio Install(Including wiring diagram and harness build)

1992 Dodge D250 Cummins diesel JVC Radio Install(Including wiring diagram and harness build)

I install an aftermarket Radio in my 1992 dodge D250 1st gen diesel using a JVC KD-X255BT head unit i purchased from Crutchfield.

I figured out all the wiring and include a complete wiring diagram of the first gen dodge diesel truck radio wiring, and build a wiring harness that plugs into the factory truck harness.
I also show you how to solder and use heat shrink.

Possible would be the same for the W250, D150, W350.

If I wanted to switch a 2nd gen Dodge radio with a 1st gen Dodge radio how would I go about it? I am asking this because I have a 82 Dodge Ram W350.

Cars Without Edges says:

Jason, if you ever want to do a Double Din install, find me on FB at Prezzato Customs and send you a free kit if you do a video.

Jonas McCracken says:

I used that same adapter kit from Crutchfield (Metra 99-6229), and while it was a perfect fit for the single din radio I bought, I found that the adapter plate flexes inward on the dash when I press the radio power button. Makes the install seem flimsy and loose. So I am trying a different brand. I saw reviews on Amazon as well where others tried that kit and didn't like it.

Carson horsch says:

What dash kit did you use

Trent Martinez says:

I’m replacing my radio right now and I ran into a problem they sent wrong trim piece to hold radio where did you get your trim piece to hold radio

This worked thank you

Very nice job. I'm doing the same on my '93 D250. Front speakers are in, finishing up the rear speakers today (ditching the old 4x10s with their cheap plastic boxes and putting in 6x9s in proper wooden enclosures). Still waiting on the head unit to arrive (Sony DSX-GS80). Your video and the wiring diagram are a big help. Thanks!
