You can nickel rod weld that piece back on the bell housing. I'm located in anaconda cool to see another Montana YouTuber

High Tide Garage says:

Can't believe how clean it is looking. You did an awesome job on the frame and drivetrain! Exciting to see it all coming together! I need to find the same motivation lol.

Dan's Garage NC says:

Lookin good. Such a great position to be in, are you gonna get it running before you move on?

old man in the shop built not bought says:

she is coming together did you ever find the washer

Guy Werry says:

I love the cat on the shoulder – I had a cat that used to jump up on my back when I went into the fridge.

I DID have a weird one last winter – we had a COYOTE CLIMB our crab-apple tree to get the left-over apples. He climbed that tree THREE TIMES.

Scott Hay says:

Brad, enjoying watching your progress with the 55. It is looking good buddy with the gleaming new paint.

Brian Kinnear says:

Motor always looks nice just after it's painted. Trick is to keep it looking that way later. Nice work. Look forward to the next one. Be safe and stay well.

Bob Silver says:

I'm also working on a 55 Chevy, gotta love em!

Roy Marko's Garage RMG says:

Mortske Repair says:

Glad it's not just me getting the shaft from GoPro!!

Mr. Heated Jacket's Quebec Garage says:

Coming along great…Well done….

Charley Stoneking says:

My shop kitty waits at the door for me and if I don't pack her around for a couple of minutes she will not leave me alone till I do.

Charley Stoneking says:

Tell me yo put a 5 gallon bucket inside the frame rails , sat on it and made engine noises! I can't help it I most certainly would have! Keep up the great work.

FrankenMuscleCars says:

I feel your pain having to paint in the cold. You have to do whatever you have to do in order to get the parts (and paint cans) warm before you can start. I wish I had access to the frame like that on my '69 Charger, it sure would make things easier.

Macho4x4Warlock says:

What’s your theory on the solid front motor mounts? What I know is solid front motor mounts will transmit engine vibration throughout the chassis up to the steering wheel.

MonadKing says:

I read a few comments about the angle and you mentioned you don't have an angle gage. Did you ever think of using you cell phone? Most smart phones, people have, you can load an app. and measure angles. It's looking good. I just put a level on my intake manifold carburetor flat area and just used it on my Nomad chassis and it's good. There is no real flat roads in my state anyhow.

adubbelde1 says:

I know you lived in the Hills at one time. Did you ever hear of "Single Jim". He used to ride around the hills on his motorcycle with his trusty parrot. Your cat jumping on your shoulder made me think of that.
I'm putting a GEN V 5.3 with a 6L80 in my 37. I separated the engine and trans last week to put it on the engine stand so I could roll It over and install a new Holley Oil pan. Watching you put the bell housing on reminded me of the struggle I had getting them apart. The dowel pins were corroded into the trans and one actually came out with the trans ultimately. I'll be putting them back together this weekend so I can mock up the engine and trans with the radiator and figure out where to put my crossmember for the trans.

Lonnie Kiser says:

Bud it's looking better every video, keep it going.

Gary Burgess says:

Does the front mounts and the back trans mount have the correct degree of angle for the drive shaft by just bolting the trans mount to the frame?

Bigskyguy56 says:

Brad,
Looking good.
I have a small block Chevy early 60s bellhousing from a c10. It is similar to what you have there. It doesn't have the side mounts like the 55 housing has. You are welcome to if you want it.
Rick

Michael Carmack says:

It’s getting there

David D'Amico says:

Looks good brad

Zach Fender says:

Did you happen to set the angle of the trans before you bolted in your crossmember looks a little high in the video also don't forget to replace your pilot bushing before you get it all together permanent keep up the great work thanks for sharing

Left For Dead Garage says:

Your getting there.
