Please note: tape the seal up again up until you intend to install it in the car to stop it from expanding again.
Once the car is started the PTFE seal is meant to expand with the very high heats generated, causing it to form a nice, tight seal.
I re-used the existing decoupler ring after bending the tabs to fit better so that it wasn’t loose. I also put a ring of plumbers PTFE tape over this part to consolidate the fit.
6 months on – so far so good 😉

8.5 (8.35 would be better) inch brass tube flaired out slightly with a screwdriver works too. i first push small with my fingers all the way around then stick into the pipe. ill definatly use electrical tape first next time, it looks like it works very well
