BMW Cup Holder Repair // DIY

Today on JD cars we are fixing a common E90 issue, the stuck cup holder. This is a very common problem, but luckily it can almost always be repaired without having to replace the cup holder. The most common issue with the cup holder is a friction gear which slows the opening motion. Thanks for watching, and feel free to leave any questions in the comments below. Try to lubricate that gear with some oil. Maybe the old one just evaporated.

Toasty says:

When my driver cupholder broke, I just replaced it. $60 is worth not having to deal with plastic gear mechanisms, especially ones that BMW made and have sat in a car for ~10 years.
