See those pits on the face of the valves? They have to be trued up or run risk of burning valves or seats. Lapping is not a valve job. It's removing material. Just like facing the valves do. Might as well put some purple stuff on them and reface them then check the work with lapping compound. Might find bent valve stems.
Idk ive always prefered a roller cam design, idk its just if anything goes wrong flat tappets die almost instantly, rollers are better for sure, unless ur going for rpm
With that types of heads cracking was very common and it was even a intern communice what size of crack was ok to let it be there and on what. Head needs replacement. So better go with 16v or less but prevent to get 20v engines from that engines
