This is better than an Agatha Christie novel! Who would have guessed that two different suspect parts fit exactly the same?

There’s probably a good DIY thread for this repair on the VW forums. When unfamiliar with a certain model, I seriously recommend people start with a google search on a car’s online forum.

I've noticed with my autel scanner it defaults to Volkswagen CV and won't decode the VIN. If you back out and go to just Volkswagen it will decode the VIN just fine.

I ran the same OTC meter for while. Until it got a bath in DEF. if/when you have to replace it, the Klein brand at Home Depot is awesome. I have two. One traditional and one with a built in amp clamp. The auto range a/c and d/c to 400 amps, so you don’t really have to worry about popping a fuse. Both are under $100.

But can Helga do it?
