In this video I show how to remove the subframe & replace the steering rack on a B6 (2006-2010) Passat, and torque specs for reinstallation.

I determined the rack was bad by testing the fuses and checking for power to the rack. This is an in depth repair and I don’t recommend attempting it yourself unless you have prior automotive repair experience. However, this video will hopefully make it much easier if you need to do this on your car.
I also show how to install a new electrical connector if you break it during removal.

Nice video. I have an 2009 Skoda Superb that has vertical play on passenger rack. It looks like your passat and my skoda hasthe same replacement procedure for changing the rack.
