Just stick an old rag in gas tank

@RobertDelfino-i3m says:

And while we do this we want to make sure that our gasket to tank is sealed correctly make sure it's straight and don't wrinkle

@teazurmark says:

Man I wish so much that I had a little brother like you…. got me thinking back to when I was 16 and I stupidly decided to tear down the top end of my Camaro over the winter. Not that my little brother would have been able to help me at all but watching this it would have been nice to have someone out there with me. I did at least get it put back together but my timing was nowhere remotely close to being able to run and my valves were not adjusted. My dad was not mechanically inclined I was on my own and this was the mid-90s there was no internet. I at least got it all back together and then got it towed up to a shop and they got the timing fixed and the valves adjusted and I think ran like a tank for a couple months until my carburetor started leaking and I made the mistake of getting a junkyard carburetor that apparently had dried out so I tested it at night and there was no leaks the next morning on my way to work apparently the gaskets had saturated and started leaking at that point and started on fire

@jasonmcculley1980 says:

So I will say this about cars from let me be fair 1980s and on back. They were prone to rust. So if you had a gas tank in a vehicle that had set up for a long period of time you would have chunks of rust that would just keep peeling off. I worked with a guy many years ago that had a mid to early 1970s Ford Maverick and that was the biggest problem. There was so much rust coming off in the tank It was a pain. So what he did was put a secondary fuel filter before the main fuel filter. It had a glass casing and you could take it apart and dump out the rust. We rode to work with him and two or three times a day we would have to stop the car break open the secondary fuel pump or fuel filter and clean rust out of it. I don't know what or how they built gas tanks back in the day but apparently they could rust from the inside out

When are we ever gonna get to meet the Pilar of Strehnth in the family?
Your dad is doing an incredible job but I’m sure he’s had some help.

@Splitfin99 says:

I always liked the gas cap behind the license plate. I know why they had to move it but it was a great hiding place. Just like the Bel Air hid the gas cap behind the tail light.

@jimworthington449 says:

Having your little brother helping you out is a great sight to see.

@alexsayles1265 says:
