Chris Vallone says:

ah well… maybe. You would have to remove the inner door felt from it and
I guess you can keep the top portion in the window opening area.

ok thanks, i will have a look in more detail next weekend and i will report
back for anyone else who has this question

Hi chris awsome videos, i am looking at replacing the felt track bar as it
is completely rusted and i think it its causing my window to get caught, is
it possible to do this without removing the felt all the way?

Hey Chris, could you tell me what is this amazing music that plays in the
end of the videos? Nice tip. When I restored my beetle I didn’t know how to
install this scraper. Thanks!

Chris Vallone says:

Why waste paint and go thru effort to prep an area that will be covered and
never seen? I actually POR-15 those areas and then cover them with
insulation.

Chris Vallone says:

Where do you see it not painted?? The whole inside is painted, dash, jams,
header bows, etc. Which part do you see not painted? The inside of the
doors you mean?

docscout says:

The inside of the doors are a pain to paint and I get that. What I’m
talking about are the kick panels, fire wall, and the front most part of
the heater channel. I get they will be covered with carpet. It just seems
like an incomplete paint job to me.

GratefulMeds says:

I really can’t thank you enough for all your videos. They have saved me
from buying a lemon and gave me the best start to my vw projects. thanks
again. P.S I have a 68 bus and a 71 squareback. KEEP THE GRATE VIDEOS
COMING CHRIS!!!!

docscout says:

I love your attention to detail. Now her comes the “but” Why don’t you
finish painting the interior of the car?
