Brian, is the passenger side axle for the celica (6th or 7th Gen) ever sold
with the housing on the bearing? or only bare bearing? not getting a clear
picture from any of the parts sites…….
Heya, I have to do this this weekend, but I don’t have access to a press or
vice. could I use a couple of C-clamps and maybe some ply wood to push the
bearing into the bracket?

I have a 1997 Toyota Celica GT and I’m also going to replace my front
passenger cv axle. Do you have to replace it with the pressed bearing or no?
Unbolt the bracket and get the whole thing up on a work bench to separate
it where it can be properly view and beaten into submission.

jerks when i stop. then when i go forword it jerks again how can i check

hey brian i have a toyota rav4 1998 4wd and my axle is leaking on the front
drivers side and this is the second time and my mechanic just finished my
clutch and returned it and i seen it was leak i am just wondering before i
install another seal into it is there any reason why it started leakin
again i asked a mechanic and he said something to do with the bearing but i
am wondering do i have to grease the new seal before installation or what?

I did one of these. Your right Brian, That bearing is the worst part of the
whole job. It’s in there EXTREMELY tight. I mangled one of my pry bars
doing that job, but eventually I did get it out. Great video by the way.

being judgmental on others. I’d rather just love every body if I can muster
it easily. The world has enough SUCK! in it as it is without me adding
judgment and being mean. (harder sometimes for us red heads)

I have a 2000 it is a little different. It also has a carrier bearing, but
the mount is different. There is one bolt on the bottom. inside the bolt
hole is some kind of pin that goes up and down. It has a more traditional
snap ring on the outboard side of the bearing. Any tips on how to tackle
this?
bout how long does it take to do both sides? i got a 94 camry 4 cylinder
have to replace both sides…bummer ive never done it b4

a very unknown thudding in my driveline/gearbox when slowing down yet it
comes and goes but when it comes it can be minor or found out tonight very
loud and violent.

Hi Brian, I just replaced my 04 Toyota Sienna cv joint shaft about 2 mos
ago . And I found leak from where the shaft going in to the trans. Leak
from there , and can u tell me if Toyota has some kind seal ? If it has
seal and maybe bad seal ?. What should I do to fix the leak? . Please help.

should just post it anyway? It looks bad and is far enough away that it’s
hard to tell exactly what I’m doing. What do you think?
Wobble extension and a short 12mm socket.
ive seen a punch roll around in too box and get damaged un known to user
ended up at dr with sliver files punch etc rapped up in safe spot he learned
@TRcustomengineering One of my boss’ wouldn’t buy a press and ONLY used a
hammer for everything. One day a bearing race shattered and embedded steel
in three places- have to have the shards surgically removed. The next
Monday he sent me with the company card to buy a press. ; ) Oh life. What

I have a 1991 toyota camry 4 cyl and was told it has the same beraing but
it is connected to the bottom motor mount and was told you have to lift the
engine to remove it . It is the one on the passenger side of the car. Is
this true and I guess I will have to find a way to get the bearing in as I
do not have a press and none close to me.

Grease helps the seal during the initial break-in process.
most auto parts stores have press when they sell parts or a installer list.
if i need a part i head to napa or bumper to bumper, if i need a press they
have a shop. or the parts managor will send me to get press work done at
his cost
