Was looking at getting this too as recommended by other saabers, is there any way to dim the lighting of the buttons, or is it exactly as bright as the other original buttons (on climate control etc)? On photos it looks very bright when it's dark.

One thing that put me off ever putting an android/aftermarket unit it was, well, the fact you needed a ugly adapter to make it fit.
That and the lack of buttons.
And this seems to have both!
Downside though, yet again, no UK or EU link.
Considering Saab comes from this part of the world, the owners here seem to be routinely forgotten.
Literally just did this with a BOSS head unit and the spiral audio kit. Couldn't hook up the antenna though….but I got android auto so don't really need a radio haha great video!!

Where did you route the antennas and the USB ports for wired CarPlay? I personally prefer wired because I can charge the phone. My two ideas are routing it through the center console into the storage area (with the cigarette lighter plug) or replacing the plug near the ACC.

Hi! Nice video, thinking of doing the same installation in my 08 9-3. One thing, how do you connect de USB-C to the screen? Does it come with the connector to plug in?
NIce install. I just finished installing the same unit this week too. I think I will do the ground isolators too because I can hear some static noise. I installed the back up camera and I found some issues with my manual car not activating it, so tapping on the camera wire into the pink rear wire between the black connector (new head unit) and the CANBUS box, and it works now.
How is the display when driving in bright daylight with the top down?
What about and 08 9-5?
