How to replace the clutch cable on a 1st gen Suzuki V-strom 650. I don’t know when the last time it was replaced so I just wanted to do some preventative maintenance. Motorcycle maintenance is important for keeping your bike in good shape for long adventure rides and motocamping trips. As always thanks for watching and please consider subscribing.
I used an OEM cable but this one might work too

Thanks for this tutorial! I'm sure that much of this information holds true for many different bikes. Nice presentation. Thanks for the tire recommendation at the end.
Thanks for the helpful video Greg. I hope they keep building bikes with Hydraulic Clutch Cables in the future.
Use a zip tie to put the top end of the old cable and the bottom end of the new one together so you can pull the new one through.
Sheโll do awesome on the TAT!
Nice job! These type of videos are very handy!
I had to replace the clutch actuator on mine, the part that holds the cable end was broken on one side. Turns out there's a procedure for adjusting it too.
GRUMP – Great video !!! – I need to take your advice & edit out all the cuss words….. Disregard ๐
Cheers !!!
Great down to earth install video Greg! It will be interesting to see how long it takes for the new cable to stretch a bit. Great job on this other than leaving out all of the cuss words for emphasis!
Good Job….Take advantage of this warm weather to get your bikes in top shape…I just rebuilt my forks on the old xr400r and got her ready for the 23 season…Happy New Years to you and Timmy….Steven ๐
I the only thing I hate when working on a bikes is having big hands trying to fit in little spots in the engine great video
You can adjust the clutch with the screw witch press on the push rod, there schould be a little play.
My cluchcable is 18 years and 185.000 km old
