Just a quickie to help a guy out — I wasn’t feeling good enough to do it but I hope I got it across how anyway.

disappointing, it should’ve been a blog. no useful images whatsoever
I took the leads of my stator as they are 16 gauge aluminum wire, aluminum has more resistance than copper so I replaced them with 14g copper wires .
it’s a combination with the earlier connectors inside that plug too – they like to create an intermittent connection – new plug is in order but on mine I just pinch in the curly things with a pic tool and make sure to hit em with some CRC electronic parts cleaner before re-assembly. I converted my CBR1000 to a Yami rectifier with the waterproof plug but the jury is still out on whether it’s a long term fix or not
Ps it’s a honda 600 with 3 yellow wires
The wires from stator to RR was hot and wires fried. Heard its the small 16 gauge wire . So I’m going to replace with 14 g and ordered new RR
How will I refill it once I’m done? And how much are we talking about that’s gonna come out?
Thanks for the response!
I believe that to be a wet one
There isn’t any oil or anything in this when I open it is there?
I have a 1982 GS450L and I need to change out my stator. Is it dry in there?

Flop the old one on the counter at a dealer – other than the lengths the ends are the same… little long isn’t a bad thing – short is though … but if you are local just pop on by – I have literally a crate of random ones you can go through – all NOS just labeled with a now defunct companies part numbers instead of mfr numbers
hey man u still alive any suggestions about this speedo cable they keep sendin me the wrong one
I think it’s pretty cool of you helping people out as much as you do.
im havin a hard time gettin the right friggin spedo cable

thanx again brother always a big help
bikebandit shows the part # as 1070706 for the 85 550l – which should be the same as the 86 – they didn’t change anything they just made so few of em in 86 it doesn’t show up in anyones parts fiche except suzi themselves
hey buddy me again i know pain in the a@# but i need to know how to tell what model of speedometer cable for my 86 550l theres a listing for a f and a g model
yeah think ill keep it turns out to be a bulb and the solenoid but i got an old solenoid for it
It’s a rare piece — be willing to bet it’s worth hanging onto as a retirement investment — They are doing nothing but going up in price even in this economy
now the clutch cable broke so i n@$%$# rigged it so the tail light quit working amd the brand new starter wont crank shoulkd i junk this thing or invest the money in it
or possibly the stator… rectifier on that one is 2 bolts and a speed plug – different location but about the same as the one in the vid I did on the 2001 gsxr rectifier replacement – if the stator 3 AC lines are throwing within 5v up or down from each other chances are it’s good…
hey bro, I have a 82 gs750e, 12k miles, it ran great, then it started acting up (dying) when it got hot after bout 30 minutes normal ride, then it wont start till cooled. is this the rectifier/regulator? If so how to fix it? PEACE! Thanks.
