Just wanted to say thanks for the Video I just completed my 2006 boulevard C90T. I had to trouble shoot it all weekend.. I thought I would save time and use RTV Silicone instead of waiting till next week to order the gasket. It gave me a Dead battery condition. I tool off the started, took at the battery had it tested finally found out if I backed off the starter cover bolts 2 turns the bike would start up. So I had some make a gasket material cut it out and fixed it. Amazing that 1/8 inch. WOW

Mario Audet says:

Great video did mine too

R Mammana says:

Hi, Yeah you can do it. Just take your time and stay calm. Like I did. 🙂

Thanks for watching and Good Luck with it.

Rick

Thanks for posting the video. I just got a 05 C90 and it had battery problems. thought it was a grounding problem but found out it was the strator. Wasn’t sure I could do, but after seeing this, I feel very confident I can. Probably tackle next weekend.

John Wong says:

Thanks for insight on stator replacement. I suggest using 3-4 inch cap head bolts (head removed) as guide pins for easier cover reinstallation. Did you run ground tests in check stator insulation and no-load performance on generator? Should be read 80 volts AC or greater at 5,000 rpm

R Mammana says:

Hi, It should have lasted a lot longer than a couple of months. I would ask the person who put the stator in about it. Anyway you could do it yourself. Good luck with it.

Thanks, Rick

Thank you for posting. I had the shop do this work last year on my Suzi Intruder 1400 – it seemed to work for a couple months but now it is back to chewing up batteries. Your video gives me courage to do it myself.

R Mammana says:

Nice, Thanks!

R Mammana says:

Hi, The warning sign I had was it seemed like the battery was dead often. I would jump start it and it would be good for a few starts, then it wouldn’t start. The stator was burnt on one side and it would not charge the battery when the bike was running. It had 10,000 miles on it then. It has been over a year now and it starts everytime, so far. Maybe put a volt tester on the battery terminals and see if it is charging over 12 volts while it’s running. If not, it’s bad.
Thanks, Rick

zjbeast says:

Were there any warning signs that would hint towards stator problems? My c90t on all the lights dim when they are all running.. Kind of like a slight flicker with the lights. Still the C90 with the stator problem is a much better bike than most.

zjbeast says:

I have 20k on my stator which is an 05.. I run TUNS of stuff..

mel torme says:

Great video, thanks for sharing. One critique. When reinstalling the stator, use some large nails, that can fit through the mounting holes, as guide pins. That should help a lot to avoid horsing around with the magnetic effect of the stator. Other than that, thank you, much appreciated

surjracer56 says:

wish i would’ve found this vid last week. just replace all this stuff at the shop and it cost me a pretty penny. great how to vid though. 2001 vl1500lc

GREAT WORK… 🙂

thomas gilmore says:

Really appreciate your video. You have a great demeanor and it was cool that you did not loose your temper. It may be that my ’05 will need a replacement stator. Had melting plastic smell and now there is no electrical power whatsoever and the battery is charged. Checked the main fuse and it was ok. Anyway, you are a good man and appreciated very much! Take Care, t

Fireicer Cooper says:

I was going to peer in to my generator cover to have a look at the stator condition. Every damn video i look at all seems to indicate the oil needs draining. I drained my oil twice one with oil change and a week later to change a failing clutch so i am thinking leave it alone now. seen as my multimeter tests it in good shape and it outputs correct voltage it can stay in there lol. My regulator packed up hence the interest. Thanks for sharing your experiences.

R Mammana says:

Hi, I hope you did the job ok. Thanks for watching.

R Mammana says:

Thanks for watching! I hope it helps somewhat. Have a good night.

Frank Ciordia says:

Thanks for the Video, well done great explanation, plus the tricky washer stuck to the magnet, is a plus. thanks again.

gmag73 says:

I have all the new parts to do this to my ’07 C90T, just nervous to get into it lol. Thanks for the helpful video!

R Mammana says:

Thank You!!!

GREAT VID! Thanks man!

markj6506 says:

How many miles on this one? I heard they only last on the c90 15k or so,just bought an 06 last september, love the bike, ill keep a spare!

Foma Kamushken says:

great video! btw, what’s the output power for stock stator on C90? is there the compatiblity between C90 stator and other suzuki motorcycles??

Adrian Canales says:

why do you do that for?

crylo1800vtx says:

Wow. The stator on that bike is a breeze compared to most bikes I have owned. Maybe I need to buy the Suzuki C90 I looked at a few weeks back.

robert sceviour says:

Thanks man, that will help bigtime ! I have to do this job in the spring.( ps keep the suzuki -05-c90 vids comeing) I like them .
