ok, so my 05 wrx has a 1 piece ebay header.. can this come off with the
engine still in? because it doesn’t seem like it can.. i’ve tried jacking
the engine up and i still don’t have clearance.
7:26 which way did you twist it?
@KillerZero259 yes, as long as your not pushing it up really high its fine.
ALL i mean ALL professionals do that. Paul has been working on Subarus for
a very long time. The reason you hear not to lift by the oil pan is most
backyard mechanics do it too far and dent the pan.
Alright so i wanna put headers on my 85 chevy, and my dads sayiin that if i
wanna put headers on it that i have to get exhaust headers, and duel
exhaust.. do i need all of those three things? im 17 so thats gonna be alot
out of my pay check…
wow that looks easy, maybe its just the car setup
nope it doesnt
good video however equal length headers on a n h-4 sounds like poooooooooo
Isnt the spool slowed a little bit if using a larger diameter header on a
stock turbo?
coool, so thats what they look like underneath
@rally411tv Do you have to lift up the engine?? I was going to install a
new gasket for my uppipe > header gasket (as well as removing my headers,
and replacing the ones for the engine) Thanks!
A good Quality extension should not lower the torque by more than .5 lbs so
it wont matter. A bad one might effect it by 1lb
Better flow through the intake and exhaust allows more power. That includes
the entire exhaust system.
Just remember that if your car is not an STI, but standard Forester XT
´06-´07, your oilfilter will be in the way off installing the header. In
that case you will need the oilcooler from wrx ´02-´05 or STI. Then you are
able to change the angle of the cooler and your filter will be placed like
on this model. The new cooler is bigger than the old one, so you also need
the bolt since it dosnt come with the cooler. Oilcooler parts nr.
21311aa051 and bolt is 21317aa022
hey paul, how much can this upgrade add to a fully built up engine with
large cams, and a gt35r tubro, external waste gate, huge front mount
intercooler, and and invidia 3″ exhaust. the car makes 361awhp on pump gas.
(it was running 26 psi irresponsibly by the guy i bought it from, and not
its fuxed, being rebuilt with closed decking) seems like the stock exhaust
manifold is probably holding it back a lot!
is that a good thing? hehe
@silverdiaz7 yo bro if u bought from the company they should’ve given u new
bolts with them but if u bought them from someone on line them most likely
would want to buy the bolts that fit those header IMO..
lift the engine on the sump!! i wouldn`t let that guy change my wheel……
This guy is really funny (in a good way) cause it makes him seem like hes
just really relaxed when he’s explaining everything… solid video…
@rally411tv oh really? so its not much than… i used to work in a shop and
they said not to use extensions but its not much so it doesnt matter than
Back off skank.
Theres no heat wrap on the headers, and the dump pipe you installed did not
have a splitter for the turbo. EPIC FAIL.
Never reuse exhaust gaskets!! Some are okay but definitely not exhaust
@chrism6 your an idiot
So… what’s the reason?
I wish I had a video showing me how to install headers on my 91 CRX.I know
it must be easy, but I’m a back yard mechanic who does only basic tune-up
work. Mods are something I wish I knew how to do confidently, I just worry
about ruining an engine
missed it on the recording. Hopefully people watch the video before they go
for it. So they notice where he mentions re-installing it.
Ive never installed headers, but I’m going to on my Integra soon. A little
advice from the more auto-savvy people? If I get the headers, do I need to
get a header pipe too, along with a cat converter?
u left out that the gaskets are directional, (round edge, sharp edge “at
least the OEM ones are!) a little anti-seize on the studs on the heads will
make the sliding of the header on so much smoother, too much anti-seize on
the a/f sensor, it may affect the reading. Otherwise Well Done on the write
up video!!
@chrism6 sir that is a stupid comment.
What’s the reason of headers after the turbo?
@ColeFilth research man it will do you a lot of good haha lol jk exhaust
manifold bottom of you moter/ engine what ever you prefer.
I’ve installed mine recently but my car is not spooling properly now.. I
did have a big leak at the slip joint which i had welded… but still got a
small leak some where :S anyone help?? I re-used the Dump pipe gasket but
it looked ok..
im check him out i live like 30mins away from roseville… humm thanks
rally411tv ur tha shit
And it still would have been wrong…
yes they are going to be different for each car. That will vary from engine
to engine as well so not all subarus are going to be the same. Check the
manufacturers recomended torque settings for your car. You can get that
from stuff like chilton manuals or some autoparts stores and can even call
the local dealer.
@rally411tv How is that a stupid comment? If you guys knew subaru’s like
you say, you’d know that both those items are required for maximum
performance and less lag. Nothing worse than cold headers for turbo spool.
And the splitter makes a massive difference.
do the torque setting vary from car to car? i have a 2002 mazda protege can
i torque it down to the same 27 foot pounds?
oh wow thank you very much!
