My car is a 2000 Bug Eye. It’s not a 2001 or a 2002. Will it have a catted
or uncatted uppipe?

Alyssa Burkart says:

Other tuners say you don’t need to reflash the ecu if you do this
modification by itself. They say you simply disconnect negative terminal,
and reset. Have you heard this?

StillTypeI says:

I have a 2005 Forester XT. Does the up pipe in the ’05 Forester have a cat?
I have asked 10 different people and I’ve received 10 different answers!
Thanks for the vid!

Joshua Ryan says:

I have a 97 wrx wagon gc8 I think… does it have a cat in the up pipe? I
assumed that all wrx’s from 1994 to 2001 where very similar in their
running gear

Heatstreak86 says:

Thanks for this vid, I wish i saw this before my turbo failed -_-

Knut Ertsaas Nilsen says:

I replaced the uppipe on my MY03 forester xt 2.0. I recommend loosening the
engine mount on the right side, then jack up the engine, this makes
installation much easier.

MRT Performance says:

I am the owner 🙂

juan garcia says:

@rick brown…you don’t need a sensor defender ,just buy a 2.2 KOhm
resistor and bridge it on the plug that was for the egt

Vinh Mangalino says:

Hey Brett, thanks for sharing your knowledge with the world, what is your
job name? Mechanic? Car technician?

MRT Performance says:

naaa sorry we typically dont do that, we find it better to explain why that
show how. be SURE your new up pipe has a flex in it! 🙂

Matthew Kilby says:

Hey Brett, don’t suppose you video’d the whole uninstall/install procedure?
Purchased my invidia up pipe and gaskets and plan on changing it myself but
would be nice if I had somewhat of a step by step. Thanks for the video and
the expertise!

Rick Brown says:

where do I find a temp. sensor defender? mentioned.

James Perrett says:

Hello
I just watched you video, you mention that if replace the up pipe, then you
will need a ECU retune. My Bugeye WRX has a Prodrive mapped ECU. Will that
be enough?

DSMTD05 says:

’02-’05 2.0L WRX’s are catted but if im correct STi’s are OEM cat-less from
factory as well as ’06-’07 2.5L WRXs when Subaru began going cat-less
up-pipe on all 2.5L vehicles

boxer3main says:

wow. I thought the 80s sube was insane… what in hell were they “catting”?
must be the ej engine shelling from the second it starts. They were using a
cat to catch the chunks. ;o)

BatteredSav100 says:

Is the cat in the up-pipe only in the WRXs or do the STis have one there
too?
