Subarus never have problems tho lololol

@scwtenor says:

Perfect. Fixed in minutes with a $1 clip. IMPORTANT: since your lumbar support is most likely collapsed, when you open the back of the seat and before you start this repair, use the switch on the side of the seat to wind the cable all the way out, then push the lumbar support into the seat from the back. this will give you plenty of slack and space inside the seat to connect the clip.

@dre3stacks7 says:

That was really clever only issue i see with that is that the new retainer you put in is longer then the old hook so im pretty sure that would limit the range of the lumbar section a bit. Not tryna be an A hole just curious to know if that affected it in any way

@xafenn says:

Be careful anyone working around in there, the unfinished edges are razor sharp.

@CoreysZ32 says:

Hahah always wondered how this mechanism worked. Simple!

@markmessner4554 says:

I did the same but now….the cable itself snapped!!

@l... says:

Can you connect ac duct under seat to the seat

@barkyharrington says:

I did this fix a few years back. Works great, but I wonder if the weak clip is a safety feature.

My brother owns a small dealership, I help him with cars this is going to be a big time saver I just never fixed them because I didn't I thought it wasn't worth even opening up so thank you very much for the tip.

@bonniekelly2250 says:

How does the seat back cover come off? Are there a series of clips and screws to remove?.

@roczilla6834 says:

Mr Subaru, now I know not every part needs to be a genuine Subaru part.
