Can you advise brand/model number (and supplier?) of the panel clip pliers
you used. They look like a useful tool (I sometimes struggle removing
those types of clips). Thanks

A jiggle valve is designed to allow air to pass through the cooling system.
Some thermostats have small holes, others have the jiggle valve. The
cooling system in your vehicle needs to allow some air to bypass to prevent
an air lock in the system. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

you know the parts store gives you temp options when getting a new
thermostat and i know you can get a 165 degree thermostat from napa for a
wrx for $8…. really there is no way to make a thermostat “high
performance” they either work or they dont….
decent argument
this is only ok in warmer conditions. for example, my temp gauge never
leaves much past “cold”.. Then theres that pesky PO128 code… Don’t use in
winter conditions.

It just has to do with the design of the engine, but anyways. Would you
really want to put this on a daily driver I mean it says raving thermostat,
I would think you would want that when you’re on the track to cool your car
better..?

what is the purpose of the jiggle pin valve?
Unfortunately that is where the engineers decided to put it. But the
install still only takes 1 hour! 🙂
thermostat doesn’t really do anything to the operating temp of the
coolant/engine. All it does is make it take longer for it to warm up. If
you want to have colder temps, then get a better radiator and a better
radiator fan.

video is to show you how to install the part in your driveway with readily
available tools.
why dont you have a lift in that shop? wtf! and subarus are one of the
easier cars to work on. hate to see you have to work on a vw!
i use to think like that too, my 240sx gave me a world of problems with a 8
dollar thermostat, then i went to discount, and well it overheated all the
time and gave me nothing but problems i even drilled a hole thru it to help
it and it would still randomly close, i put a new oem 30 one in and it
never gave me a problem ever again, you pay for quality
