Dood! I had no crank, no click, no start. This 2002 Ford 150 normally sits in my brother’s pole barn, but he and his wife drive around every month, or so. Anyway, I’m getting ready to drive it to his house….no go! I did the thing with a screwdriver on the 2 poles and cranked and started right up! I turned if off and tried to start it normally….nope. So, when I got it going again, I let it run for about 5 minutes, shut it off and tried starting again and it started! It’s been sitting for a couple hours. I’ll try to start again. I’ll watch the rest of your video to see what the likely culprit is and see if I can do it myself. If not, I know that I don’t have to have it towed to my mechanic!

What would cause it to turn over keeping stater engaged as soon as you attach the battery again? I followed the same wiring of the solenoid as was before. I’ve replaced the ignition, ignition switch starter and solenoid. 5050 if the starter will stop. Thank you

The new solenoid on my 81 Bronco. Turns over the engine but buzzes loudly! It's got a new battery and high torque starter. I've wire brushed all the connectors. Is it possibly a ground issue or maybe a bad solenoid?

Im confused. At the 1:00 timestamp you mention that you have your negative on the left side…from what I understand how relays work is that would be the 12v positive side fed from battery and it jumps over to the other post which goes to the starter when the relay plunger makes contact…i dont see how that would be negative as then youre not supplying the starter motor with positive voltage…you would just be grounding the starter motor if it were a negative post
In your explanation your pointing to the big lugs saying one lug is negative and the other lug saying it goes out to battery fuses and down to the starter. But actually unless I missed something. One lug goes too battery positive. And the other down to the starter as you mentioned. It gets its negative connection by being bolted to the body. I understand what your getting at. But if a person didn't know they may assume that the negative battery cable goes to. What your referring too as negative.

Question my battery light came on .replaced the altnator. Drove two weeks. battery went dead .20:17 and bought a new battery . Put in at night started right up. Morning try to start heard clicking then went dead . Can it drain the battery overnight
What is it if you have power at ignition switch wire but when jump at solenoid it hardly sparks and doesn't crank
thank you for helping problem solved, problem, anti-theft relay, after 4 days of analysis and help where 2 wires would go, the continuity test was carried out and spent $$ which is not necessarily an automatic relay and switch, 1 relay, thank you for your attention and dedication and all the best.
