Prior to 2015 Mazda did NOT use direct fuel injection. Since then MOST car manufacturers began using direct fuel injection to better meet new tighter government mpg requirements. So why pick on Mazda?! Also, at 70 mph Mazda3 and Miata engines are already spinning at about 3500 rpm, so that's already running pretty hard to be building up carbon deposits…Anyway, all Mazdas need to be driven at 75 or 80 mph sometimes (often). Mazdas are made for zoom zoom, which means that if they are well maintained you can rev and drive them hard, the valves and injectors will benefit and both of you will love the experience! Better yet, how about some revs used in conjunction with injection cleaner – that's the best combination – and highly recommended, especially as an excuse when you want to row some gears and times when you just want to put a smile on your face…
Mazda6 manual is about 3000 rpm on 6th gear @70mph. Probably easy to go over 3500 in 5th
NOPE, doesn't work. A heavy foot in the life of the car helps, BUT IN NO WAY fixes or cleans it. It just reduces it by 10 to 15%. My tuner Hyundai made it to 75,000 miles and then constant misfires at idle. Did the walnut blast myself and running great now. This is just click bait. I am an X auto mechanic also.
My cx 5 fuel comsumption around 7.4 km/l but after try to throthle in high way once in a while now the comsumption back to 8.5 for stop and go traffic
The Cork Sport performance upgrades in my 2019 CX-5 AWD Turbo make it QUICK! So "My Precious" gets an Italian Tuneup every time I get on the beltway. Sometimes another driver will engage me in an "Unsanctioned Acceleration Comparison" that I will usually accommodate. (It's never too late to have a great adolescence.)
Not sure about that zero tip. A catch can would do better. Also, use an oil formulated for GDI engines and change it often.
Mazda solved the problem by ditching Ford engines made cam changes got on top of prob.
But and this applies to all direct injection engines in UK maybe USA not sure , NEVER use E10 fuel use only highest E5 you can buy.
Direct injection cannot cope with E10 .
Ask AMG Merc engineers it can lead to catastrophic valve,cam ,piston failure .

Skyactive G has a dual injection system. A lean port injection and a direct injection. It has a higher compression ratio. If they used port injection at 13:1 it would not work. It’s a very efficient engine.
Skyactiv heart is high compression ratio which results in thermal efficiency
With port injection the compression ratio would have to drop which goes against the engines design
All we do is drive them like crazy from time to time, service twice a year & use injector cleaners from time to time yes it won’t wash the intake but clean burn means less egr dirt

Any ICE engine has carbon. Build-up will happen to any car with worn rings or valve stem seals. Utter bs video.
To mitigate the carbon buildup inherent to direct-injection engines, Mazda designed the Skyactiv-G to run its intake valves hotter to discourage deposit formation. Additionally, the engine incorporates an integrated air-oil separator in the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) line and operates with high-efficiency combustion to reduce blowby. While these engineering measures slow down the accumulation compared to other direct-injection designs, carbon buildup remains an inevitable process over the lifespan of any 100% direct-injection engine.
I dont know. This sounds like BS. The coolant stops the engine from getting too hot. There is no flame or fuel hitting the back of the valves. Sounds fishy to me.

GDI is NOT unique to Mazda engines whatsoever and this poorly researched video implies Mazda GDI is unique, not impressed…some manufacturers use two injectors per cylinder one in the combustion chamber and one in the intake and they run at different times so that the intake injectors "clean" the intake valves, but these models are proportionately more expensive to produce…
How is that going to work without fuel washing over the valves?
ADD an Air Oil Separator.. I add them on all my direct injection engines, EXCEPT my Toyota, which has 2 injectors on each cylinder, one direct and one in the intake tract to prevent carbon buildup…AIN"T THEY SMART!!!
