Robot Cantina says:

For everyone who pointed out the turbo drain is wrong, THANK YOU… I will fix it ASAP

fm9572 says:

Please don't scrap this vehicle. I have a 2007 Saab 9-3 with around 151k, that's mechanically sound, Unwrecked with a little faded paint I might be persuaded to trade even for if the mods/maintenance you're doing work out.
I live in NC, it's old enough I wouldn't even have to have it inspected, and I live in a county with dirt cheap property taxes.
Just something to consider. It's too nice to just junk. Too much good work to just sh!tcan.

Prjndigo says:

Hopefully I'm one of a thousand comments about how the turbo should be mounted with its axis parallel to the ground. Sure it's one of those short-term things but still.

Dakota Hicks says:

Have you thought of adding timing to the injection pump to get more fuel lower in rpm to maximize power

Robert Jung says:

Turbo next, can't wait! Thanks Jimbo.

Operaatio says:

I can feel the power

Greg Dell says:

My 80's IDI turbo VW diesel regularly sees 1250-1300 F egt's, and has over 350K miles on it and still makes spec compression. My common rail cummins also will pull a hill with a load sitting at 1100 for miles and loves it. Just saying she probably wouldn't mind running more fuel/temp. Love the channel!

Roxxlive Racing says:

Im wondering since the Exhaust of the Engine is at the front can you not make an Air bypass to let air Flow over it? Basicly a Vent duct from the Bumper that ignores the Radiator but hits the front of the Engine?!

Ben Holroyd says:

I thought 'rozzers' was a britishism?

Ni9kye says:

Great so far, I’m thinking a good quality synthetic oil in gearbox and engine can only improve efficiency, maybe somthing to consider later down the road.

David Lampe says:

Love your ideas and love watching each episode good stories and videos.
Lots of armchair generalizations about fuel economy and lots of opinions about how to get it running better. How do you decide on the best directions they all sound so convinced that their way is best.

DaveSluggy says:

Normally the little Kubota engines with the engine mounted transfer pump deliver about 4psi of positive fuel pressure to the injection pump. Can’t wait for the next instalment.

Ryan Bishop says:

I hate that you have to justify your work to idiots who can barely wipe their own asses. Keep up the great work!

overr8ted2 says:

Love the videos I don’t want to be one of the people saying you shouldn’t do this and you shouldn’t do that but…… haha the turbo should not sit up end like that it puts way to much load on the thrust bearings and will wear it out very quickly it needs to be as close to level as you can get it

Duane Dalton says:

Is the fuel tank vented?

Aaron Powell says:

I think I heard under 2.4L each sticker is worth 15hp. 5+liter is roughly 5hp, with a grey area in between.

Cooper Turbo says:

I think I red somewhere that turbo’s turbine shaft should be kept horizontal-ish for proper lubrication of the bushings.
OEM installations are mostly compliant with that requirement too

Ivo says:

I can guarantee that giant TURBO stickers will make it go even faster than those racing stripes.

aenoymotors says:

That Saturn is way too cool now to be scrapped. It needs to stay alive!

Hebrew Hammer Arms Co says:

You still want a intercooler for the turbo… Once you have that set up, you will be surprised by the performance of those little Diesel engines…

andrea antuoni says:

In my opinion, when turbo and a right dimensioned intercooler right placed too, added to optimal tuning to fuel pump for the higher request of diesel, could help a significant reach in performances. Eventually, the last – i think – mod could be improving the injectors and/or a new compatible high pressure fuel pump.
Best goal could be balancing performance and fuel efficiency, keeping acceptable temperatures in the engine and exhaust…….

Fred The Bulldog says:

Do a live AMA on YouTube! There are unquestionably a lot of people who would love to ask you all sorts of questions. Plus, you'd very likely make a ton of money from "Bonuses" during the live stream so people's questions are highlighted at the top. I see other channels with a fraction of your subscribers making a ton of money doing this and everyone would love it. Win win!

Tristan Hameleers says:

Just jack the car up and turn the wheel and see how Lang it keeps turning compared to the other wheel (or if it has a lot of friction because the transmission, just try it by hand and people just have to believe you, at least you know it for sure then).

BigBlueMotors says:

I think that if you remove the windshield wipers you'll boost your mpg and top end:) Thanks for the treat of two videos in one week!!! On the serious side, I hope that you put Locktite on those turbo hose adapter screws. Carry on!!!

branden martin says:

Great work!

Dale Chenoweth says:

I'm always keen for an update on your projects. Love the channel. Thank you.

Gage Burns says:

A bigger diameter exhaust will help keep the exhaust gas temperatures down a bit lower, stock sized exhausts hold the heat and choke up the engine a little which results in higher EGTs.
