As always, you are The Authority on all things 9-3 who I turn to when my 2003 Arc gives me issues! I had my door apart – in pieces on the garage floor – and was having difficulty getting the window switch set back in. I decided to take a break and “see what Jacob recommends…” Well, after watching this clip, everything was back together in less than 15 minutes!!! It’s amazing to just look over your shoulder and follow your thoughts as encounter problems and then solve them. I’m greatful that you share.
My problem right now is getting a copy of my key. Any idea where I can manage to get a copy? I live in San Diego.
As I have take off all four door panels because of three separate issues (yeah, living the dream…") Just wondering isn't this a good chance to tackle the legendary rattling noise of the door handle?
The plastic cover of the window buttons seems to make a noise. Any ideas on this one Jacob? Mine is to use those two sided adhesive foams.
Question for anybody who knows. I have a 2010 Saab 9-3 2.0T and the fuel gauge has been messing up for a while where it would show how much gas I have before plummeting to nothing can’t even read how much on the dte when that happens. Now it flat out doesn’t work at all when I turn on the car it will go all the way to the top then go down to nothing. Mechanic said the car doesn’t have a cluster for the scanner to figure out what’s wrong so they recommended dropping fuel tank and replacing fuel pump while also diagnosing further. Any help?

If you want a good hack, buy a metal staples plastics welder, and reinforce all the round tips with the metal insert where the 2 screws go in, and the stress zones of that skeleton plastic part, where you know the plastic will bend when you pull the door handle. Did it in mine, and they’re un-breakable when you pull them, mostly when you enter the car and seat and you close the door with you at the same time, too much force is applied, and that’s when they break almost every time.

Would it help to prevent cracking when you put a metal washer under the screws or is the surface not flat?

Great video. I have always wanted to play around with ways to fix the plastic crunching noise that comes from the handle cover and I feel like spraying plastidip on the inside of the cover might soften up the contact points enough to solve the issue.
I have this issue on my car I bought too. Where did you get the replacement piece?
Omg this is the fix. Previous owner just used superglue and it's falling apart
