if you place the cam sensor in your pocket , the car will start too, maybe at the 1st or 2nd or 3rd try but it WILL start;
there are only 2 TDCs, compression and exhaust, and so it is a 50–50 chance of starting; let go of the key, and crank again, maybe again… till the spark jumps at the compression TDC and it runs….

Yeah I replaced my camshaft sensor. The magnet that goes with it and the crankshaft and I still get no start
