Son To Father Gift Project Starts! Making The Lexus Seat More Comfortable

Son To Father Gift Project Starts! Making The Lexus Seat More Comfortable

We take a Lexus LS430 seat apart which happens to be one of the most complicated seats from Lexus and possibly one of the most over built!

This is part of the Lexus LS430 that is being restored by our shop as a gift from a Son to their Father. What a beautiful story!

If you can’t afford the maintenace of a Lexus Ls 430 don’t purchase it… 1 headlight lens new is $500.00… These are well to do people cars not just a working poor man’s car.
No disrespect intended.

I had the driver’s seat cushion replaced and i couldn’t tell the difference. It still feels uncomfortable for my boney butt. 2005 LS430. 60,000 miles.

Damn… the interior of that 20 year old car is stunning!!

For the issue at https://youtu.be/E2_7IbFi6yI?t=1701 move the seat a little before disassembly. I just did the seat leather top and bottom on my 2004 ls430. I didn't need to remove the top of the seat nor all those wires. Just in case someone else didn't notice, there is a cut-out on both sides for the rear seat tray bolts. Move the seat all the way to the rear then about 7/8" toward the front and the cut-out hole lines up with the rear tray bolts making it trivial to remove the tray by taking out the four tray mounting bolts. Should save a ton of time for folks who are having issues with those rear most seat cover clips both removal and reinstallation.

As someone who is on the waiting list for a Back Operation, you do not have a Bad Back.

My rip seat isnt too bad after watching this

@triplester says:

very nice job from you two. thank you!

@TimSundt says:

Is it an option to recline the seat and slide it out the back door? I’ve done others that way (and leave the steering wheel intact)

@eldorado767 says:

I wonder- could you put on the seat back AFTER you've installed the bottom?

@eldorado767 says:

Dude- lifting and twisting a too heavy load really screwed up my back. Take care!

@fredepstein says:

Is there a continuation for this? I could not find the videos….

@fahadhashmi2889 says:

My god that car looks brand new

@Alfster75432 says:

I was intending to do this upgrade but after seeing the hassle, I'll give it a miss.

@michaelfreni5565 says:

Very nice of you to offer to detail the car on your dime! You are a true gentleman
