I had an issue when my battery failed while in drive causing the car to
shut down. I replaced my battery but then it went into limp home mode. i
reset the throttle body like in the video pulled the fuse and waited. When
i started my car it is still in limp mode according to the dash light but
the throttle body is acting like it is not in limp mode, I am afraid to
drive my car now.

just dies and then i’ll put it in forth and then i can accelerate again
does this sound like the limp home mode? i’m new to saab and diesel tbh
does anyone know what is happening with my car? thanks in advance!

Is there a way to completely remove the possibility of the ‘Limp Home Mode’
activating? Upgraded throttle body perhaps? 😀

ian macadie says:

Thanks, followed instructions and all is well, have to disconnect the
battery which cleared the service nag as well! so dashboard doesn’t look
like blackpool / coney island any more ie no more lights, Fooled two local
garages. Thanks again, a real help

Shane Summers says:

Thank you! You are an Angel. Just want to mention to everyone, If your
check engine light is already on you will have to pull the cord to the
battery to reset your car before restarting, or else your car will go right
back into Limp home mode.

Evox beck says:

so this is only necessary if your CEL is on? About a year and half ago. My
CEL and Check Gearbox were on, 2 months later they went away. Haven’t come
back since. lol
