Project 996 is back for another episode and today we’re installing a custom blue tach face in the center of the instrument cluster to tie in with the new exterior body color and the blue deviated seat belts. The installation process you see in this video is essentially the same for the 911 996 as well as the 986 and 981 Boxster / Cayman.
These custom tach faces are available in a variety of colors with customizable features from AutoAmateur.com/shop! Check them out here…

It looks super this! All blue?
Makes a big difference. Love it. Sorry Nick.
Looks Great!!
Nice job…. would not mind doing this to my 991.
You have to change the channel name, you’re looking too professional.
What’s with the hand modelling is that another side business.
Good job!!!
Looks great – but you make it look so easy! I once took my instrument cluster off to change a bulb that had gone out on the oil pressure gauge. My blue/green/white plugs we SOOOOO brittle, I quickly aborted the mission. Chickened out, you might say. Maybe I’ll give it another shot. I’d like to have a yellow or maybe red tach face.
God how I have been waiting for this.
Excellent vid. You could have added a shot through the windscreen when you were unplugging the instrument gauges.
Looks great!…. Just wondering of any calibration issues since the needle was removed. Any idea?
Any future plan to do a complete set of all the gauges?
Super easy! Thanks for the tutorial!
Nice work as always. Ads a nice little pop of color.
Awesomeness. Thank you.
Theeeeere it is
