@Jerry - It sounds like the main is booting up, make sure none of the buttons on the front are stuck. Try to turn it on by the button. If this does not work, you may need to replace the main board. Unfortunately we are currently out of stock for this board. Please let us know if you need any further help, thanks!

Jerry says:

Please help! I replaced the DLP Chip in my Mitsubishi WD57734. When I turn on the TV, the green LED light comes on for about a minute then shuts off. I was grounded and took precautions when handling the board. I held the Menu and Input buttons for the LED reading and it was a 1-2 sequence.

I was able to replace the DMD chip for Mitsubishi WD-65733. However when I power on my TV, the yellow status light stays on with a clear picture and sound, but now, the TV powers off after about 30 seconds followed my the lamp indicator flashing green. Also the original DMD chip number was 1910-6103W. The chip I received was 1910-6143W. Could that be the problem? What did I do wrong? PLEASE HELP!!

shopjimmy says:

@ttp513 – Thanks for sharing your story! We are happy to help and appreciate the kind words!

Good Evening ShopJimmy, I just used your tutorial to change out my chip. My mitsubishi model was not the same, but it was close enough to follow, especially with your very easy to follow instructions. I was nervous, but afterward, I was surprised by how easy you made it for me so thanks so much for that. Keep up the great work!!!

chaseman94 says:

Is this the right chip needed for my tv Mitsubishi WD-65638?

shopjimmy says:

@jimmito360 – We would recommend contacting a repair shop to see about getting a replacement mirror. Most likely it will be expensive to purchase and also to ship. Thanks and please let us know if you have any other questions! (877) 881-6492

jimmito360 says:

Symptom is that my surface mirror is broken, so therefore I can’t watch my tv

shopjimmy says:

@jimmito360 - what are the symptoms of your TV problem? Thanks!

jimmito360 says:

It’s not the dlp chip, I’m not that lucky 🙁 but I can not find not one single image anywhere of what the mirror is or looks like

jimmito360 says:

If the dlp chip is what seems to me a big mirror inside my tv than yes, I took off my screen where I can see inside my tv and it’s a mirror that reflects the projection

shopjimmy says:

@jimmito – Are you looking for a DLP Chip? Also, let me know the symptoms of your TV problems. Thanks!

jimmito360 says:

Dude, I was moving and my sister somehow managed to break my tv, it’s the Mitsubishi wd-65638 model, what broke was a glass mirror inside the tv, I can’t find it on any websites, do u know where I can find and or order one?

shopjimmy says:

@jason butler - you do not need to use thermal compound. Thanks!

shopjimmy says:

@bxwarrior011 – The proper chip replacement for your model TV is the 4719-001997. This chip is currently on back order, but you can purchase the chip and it will ship at a later date. Today a white dot showed up, included are many black dots. I saw that your price is 189.99, Do you guys sell a slightly cheaper chip that’s around 100 dollars? Also, is 4719-001981 DLP Chip compatible with my WD-65638?

bxwarrior011 says:

Hey Jimmy, I have a Mitsubishi WD-65638 tv and recently I’ve had these small black dots come up (Not white dots). Started off with 2, now I have like 13 dots. What’s weird is that one of the dots disappeared. Is this dust? Or possibly some sort of insect left some things behind? I hope it’s not the DMD chip, no way for me to afford that right now. Maybe some debris fell into the lens? Hope I can get a response, thanks.

shopjimmy says:

@Robertwragg34 – You are very welcome! Thanks for the comment and please let us know if there is anything we can do in the future to help you with your TV repair(s)!

Robertwragg34 says:

Thank u!

jason butler says:

when you put the heatsink back on, would a very small dab of thermal compound help? i think im gonna try it. I use AC mx4 on all my computer stuff. Non conductive so why not?

shopjimmy says:

@Anya Rose – Glad to hear it was an easy fix!

Anya Rose says:

I called with the “code 38” issue, it WAS just a loose connection at J3 ! Thanks SO much for your help !! You guys rock 😉

shopjimmy says:

@greco5305 – I would say it is the ballast that is bad. The part number for your ballast is 938P060010. If you search that part number on our website you will find we are out of stock. You can click on the contact me when the part is back in stock tab and we will email you when we have the part back in stock. Thanks and please let us know if you need anything else! (877) 881-6492

Please help me Jimmy! (below)

greco5305 says:

I don’t know what’s wrong with my mitsubishi-wd-65731 at this point. Awhile back I replaced the thermal sensor when the “air flow” problem came up and that worked. This time around I have the red indicator on the front of the TV for a bad lamp. I purchased and installed a new lamp and I still have the red LED light indicating a bad lamp. As the TV is turning on, it makes these really high pitched wany noises almost in a cycle. IT does this 3 or 4 times and then shuts off, never giving anypicture

shopjimmy says:

@Jay Rod – Without the make and model of the TV, it can sometimes be difficult to diagnose. I would be sure the lamp door is reattached and attached securely. If you have the lamp in tightly and the door on correctly and you still have the lamp light blinking, you may need to jumper the door switch out completely. Thanks and let us know if you have any other questions!

shopjimmy says:

Please let us know if you need any other help!

shopjimmy says:

@Celoner68-I would assume it’s the status LED not the lamp LED, if its the lamp LED you have a bad lamp. Solid red status light could be, circuit failure/short circuit, disconnected DVI cable, No Lamp signal from main to turn on the lamp, or ballast communication problem. Check all the connections make sure you seated everything correctly. It could be as simple as a connection not fully seated. If that doesn’t work try the original chip, If that works it could be an issue with the new chip.

Celoner68 says:

Your videos and service are so far fantastic! I just replaced the dlp chip (from you guys) in my WD 60735 following this video and a few others. Chip went in well, TV started with sound and no image, now static sound and constant red ‘status’ light. Any indication as to what that may be?

shopjimmy says:

Sound is not controlled by the formatter board. If you’re using component be sure the Red Green and Blue for video then the extra Red and white for audio. If the connection is external make sure you didn’t mute the speakers or set to external source. If using a cable box be sure is not muted. Hook up another TV or try another source to confirm. I would try factory reset, still no audio? go back inside and check you didnt disconnect the speakers from the main board.Possible with optical block
