Naturally you totally neglected to report the cost.

@drew1930 says:

This video is misleading. I installed a 2nd gen mr.cool diy a long time ago after getting a hvac quote that was insane. At the time, with federal and utility rebates and parts, I think it cost me like $300 total to instal. Still running great all these years later. If you are handy (aka can do basic electrical & other diy stuff) then it's easy. In this video you purposely make it look bad and sloppy, most DIY people will read the directions and watch a video or 2 on Youtube before attempting. Just because it is DIY doesn't mean you need to be sloppy. DIY in this case just means that you don't need to flare, pump the lines down, nitrogen pressure test, and vacuum the linsets. None of that is hard but most diy'ers won't have a nitrogen tank or the vacuum pump.

@toddlemons5952 says:

You didn't make a point at all. Major selling point is a cover comes with the pro install? Really? I could buy line covers for myself and all my neighbors with the savings I get by doing my own system. MrCool is generally rebranded high quality equipment. HVAC companies are cons. Two tried to rip me off with 12k installs.

@DanLiveOnUTube says:

There are other people out there empowering average joes to save a few thousands dollars because in this economy who can afford your over priced "premium" service. I will say Mitsubishi should release DIY versions to compete as the rest of the world has been using mini splits forever. Nothing about this video is genuine. I'm in the market but 100% will not hair you after this.

@KarmenD-ce5re says:

these guys are just pushing THERE brand, its crystal C L E A R and its NOT the MR COOL !

@PaulSatrom says:

That's too bad that you were sorta vague and not really comparing equally. Also, you did NOT install the line set on the MrCool correctly!
Maybe you should review that and rethink an update video ?
the Line set is to be laying Flat, so as not to collect/trap fluids, etc.
Anyway better luck next time.

He’s acting like you can’t just rent a torque wrench at an auto parts store lol

@603mediaNH says:

Nice Vid. Would have been nice to do a comparison of how they worked and the price difference to install DIY and a Pro Install.

@paulbuoniconti5275 says:

This video was a waste of time.

@pixelupdates7041 says:

Wow this really is a crap video thumbs down

@pixelupdates7041 says:

The big problem here is that the AC guys rip everyone off and all the homeowners know it. They put outrageous markups on the Mitsubishi equipment and charged outrageous install fees. They put it in an all-in-one price in an attempt to hide everything yet it's fairly easy to find out what these Mitsubishi systems cost. Screw these HVAC guys they are totally greedy

@thedavesofourlives1 says:

thats 7 minutes of useless i'll never get back

@jordanmontes4401 says:

I would agree the average diyer should leave these alone, especially the electrical side of it. That sound i just finished installing my 5th condensor and 12 head unit. They all work awesome and we use them for heating and cooling. We had a cold snap here in Colorado where it was in the negatives for a few days and the worked great. Im glad these were an option since pro installs would have been insanely expense.

@PLATINUM2U says:

Mr Cool doesnt stand behind their products. My 36000 btu unit developed a weird bearing noise thats so loud and irritating its a manufacturing defect and mr cool wants me to pay for the parts. Stick with Mitsubishi a well known reputable brand

Me cool still hasnt resolved my issues. And guess what when this junk finally dies ill be installing Mitsubishi or LG for my home

@hanswurl583 says:

You guys have some great videos, but this is not one of them. Since you didn't actually compare the two systems, we are left to assume that the far cheaper DIY version was a pretty fair alternative at a much lower price.

@dinaranganathan says:

If you have an average home (1500 sft to 4500 sft), and live in the frigid north of the US or Canada, then Mitsubishi HyperHeat Multi-Zone is the most inefficient system for you. You are better off installing a Mr Cool Single Zone of Multi-Zone, because Mitsubishi multizone will short cycle frequently (going to ZERO to peak – shutting down and starting up), resulting in energy consumption of over 3000Kwh. Other companies have designed the systems to modulate but not Mitsubishi.

@beachboardfan9544 says:

Yea what was the price difference between the DIY and "pro install"?
