In this video from Boats.net, John will show you how to remove the decals from an outboard and then replace them with a new outboard decal set. We’ll use a heat gun to remove the decals, and then we’ll use a decal stripping wheel to get off some of the cracked and damaged decals that won’t come off. Then we’ll use some contact cleaner to get the last of the adhesive residue off of the cowling.

Mercury outboard decals come on a transparent sheet that you pull away after you position the decals. To apply new decals on the outboard, we’ll use some water with a little dish soap to help us position the decal, and then use a decal squeegee to pull the soap and water solution out of under the decals as we remove the transparent film.
