Do you have to remove the timing case cover to replace the gasket ?
it took till 200k for mine to start going to shit.
Mine has been leaking around 108,000 miles. I like the car, but damn, it seems like one thing after another with this thing. My hood is super oxidized now too from all the burning oil.
taurus and sables are known to leak there. Im replacing mine as well at the moment. Take your time chain cover off and replace the gasket, its only just going to keep reoccurring. Your starter will eventually go out soon too if it hasnt already. good luck!

On the 3.0L motors the timing covers leak and its really an easy fix. Check your PCV valve, it is extremely common for them to get pluged with carbon and grim and over time can cause the engine to have back pressure and will press out the oil pan gasket. I have seen this on tons of this particular 3.0L Ford produced from 2000-2004. good luck

Dang, honestly but sad to say, 3 words for you (technically 4) Don’t Buy American !! They quit making good cars back in the early 80’s, then on out it’s been downhill from there. Straight Junk made by unionized shops by people who don’t care about anything more than a paycheck and by stockholders that only want the car made as cheap as possible to make them the most profit possible & for you 2 have 2 return less than 10 years later 2 buy another. Buy Jap scrap, at least it won’t leave ya hangin!
