How To Install A Fuel Pump In A 2008 Mercury Mariner

The Fuel Pump went out on this 2008 Mercury mariner, and in today’s video i walk you through a detailed, step by step process to replace the fuel pump.

Highlights:
Fuel pump located under the driver’s side rear seat
Wear Safety glasses
Buy the O.E. Part

The 2008 Mercury Mariner is the same as a ford escape, this video should cover Ford Escape 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2011 and the same years of mercury mariner.

Aftermarket part cost: $100
O.E. Part Cost, Just under $400

Aftermarket pump lasted 6 months and left the vehicle stranded multiple times. I Strongly Recommend purchasing the O.E. Motorcraft part.

First indicator the fuel pump was a P0191 Code, the fuel rail pressure sensor was detecting the pressure was not where it should be, this won’t fix the code in every case, and since it’s not a cheap repair even for the DIYer I strongly recommend diagnosing before installing parts.
