Wayne Walker says:

Not to be pedantic, but … how about a ’00?

RayVal53 says:

Nope… The 98 and 99 are a little less user friendly, but not by much.

Arjayeee3 says:

Is this the same procedure for 98 ml 320?

RayVal53 says:

Hello, no, the brake part lubricant is sold seperate in little pouches but its pretty cheap. I usually buy Cerami-glyde brand.

Ilshat Karimov says:

Does the cleaner liquid comes with the brake pads?
Whats it called?

RayVal53 says:

Youre welcome!!!

bigilote says:

Thanks a lot for posting this. I saved myself 300 bacs, I bought the pads my self and fitted both front and rear without any issues. Many thanks.

RayVal53 says:

Ouch… Im sorry to hear that… Reconsider either DIY or changing mech shops. I bet they sell the replaced rotors for personal profit too…

xycnolasco says:

Great tip….every time I change my break pads they always change my rotors

RayVal53 says:

Actually, yes you can! Pads generally wear out faster. A little observation when changing brakes will tell you if you A. Leave rotors alone, B. Remove and resurface or C. Remove and replace.

xycnolasco says:

What about the rotors? You can’t just change brake pads without changing the rotors

RayVal53 says:

Hi Scottfree6, in my time ive owned a ’99 ML320 and now my flagship ’05 ML500, they are both different proceedures, but Im not familiar with the ’02 ML320. PM me and we can discuss it further if you like!

scottfree6 says:

Hey man, thanks for that video…great illustration of how to change these pads. well shot, and well explained…great one dude and thanks again..THUMBS UP!!! I see someone else asked a similar question but is a 2002 ml320 a similar procedure??

RayVal53 says:

Hey thanks! Glad you enjoyed and hope it helped!

Darron C says:

Yes the brakes are easy but I hope you dont have to replace the rear shocks on your car, you have less than 1/2 inch to take the top screws off and on. I will go to the MB dealership and I hope they can tell me what tool to use to take them off or I have to find a kid with small fingers to take them off. Great brake video again!!!

Darron C says:

Great video!!! Thanks

anil basra says:

nice compilation with the instruments requirements.. nice

scorch6niner says:

Ray dude, sweet vid, I changed pads in minutes…vulcan tool didn’t need it. I did take cap off master cyl which helped with piston. Many thanks

Clare Jenkins says:

this is great was wondering how hard it would be for me to change my brake discs, but seeing this great video im going to do them myself, thanks

RayVal53 says:

Oh gosh its literally been about 7 or 8 years since I worked on the 320. I believe I actually had to take the whole caliper off as I was also doing the disks.

Amopower says:

How close is this procedure to what you did on the 99 ML320? I am going to be changing my 2000 ML320 front brakes real soon.

alexkyaw says:

I want Mercedes now hehehe

bignoiz08 says:

Thanks for that video….excellent step by step….

RayVal53 says:

I havent used a c-clamp since I got rid of my ’99 ML-320, but I dont see why you couldnt use one… The Vulcan brake tool just makes it that much easier.

Johnny Morales says:

So I needs that brake pad tool separator? Or can I just take off the whole caliper and use a C-clamp to push the piston back in?

RayVal53 says:

I got mine from sears online catalog, it was 20 bucks and was delivered to the house in three days.

scorch6niner says:

RayVal: Thank you for taking time to make video. That was easy. The Vulcan Brake Pad Separator Tool Thing, can that be purchased at any auto parts place?
