damnduke says:

i noticed your plated are ny im livin in ny to what part you from?

wernaud says:

No problems. For rotary engines in general, especially the Renesis,
hydro-locking is almost impossible to do, so water getting in isn’t a big
deal. Check out rx8club.com, tons of people have this intake design with no
problems.

Jordan Harpst says:

have you had any problems with water getting into the intake? i live in
Ohio and have similar weather to you, and am debating on getting the same
intake.

wernaud says:

Thanks…There’s not a huge difference in pull…a little maybe. The
biggest difference is in sound.

wernaud says:

@edoloman24 Nope.

wernaud says:

Every day. Only problem I have is when the snow is higher than my bumper
lip and it plows. Other than that, I put on winter tires and it’s set.

Reuben says:

i could tell it was stock exhaust from the first time you revved it. ive
got the mazdaspeed exhaust on mine and will be installing the AEM intake
soon, im not really sure if i have the balls to do it myself though. was it
easy?

ShadowChemos says:

@wernaud Thanks so much for your reply!

schokkedj says:

This is my next mod… Was going to use the k&n typhoon induction but heard
they are bad!!! I currently got cobra sport exhaust with toyo sport decat
fitted. You get some nice flames coming from it 😉

westcst2k7 says:

Dude nice intake…

Ellaine Dela cruz says:

Hey do you have problem getting water inside your engine

wernaud says:

@ShadowChemos The exhaust was ~$800 new, I got the intake for ~$200 used.

marc okamoto says:

nice vid, i have a 2006 rx-8 and i wanted to put in an intake, you can do
that yourself right? like you dont need to take it to a shop

damnduke says:

hey im gunna be getting an rx8… just wondering if i get an intake and
exhaust what should i get? what sounds the best? does your car sound better
in person?

wernaud says:

@machetero1 The intake was more in depth than the exhaust. If you follow
directions it’s not too hard, if you’re used to working on cars.

Brian Rose says:

@wernaud it comes with the intake when you order it.

Stelth2k1 says:

nice car and sound i have same one minus the intake and exhaust i just
bought 07 black, do u feel much difference in pull with those installed?

wernaud says:

As long as you have the tools and a little mechanical aptitude you’re good
to go. There might be a set of instructions for the AEM intake online
somewhere. Good luck.

Jordan Harpst says:

do you only drive it in good weather, or is it your daily car?

ShadowChemos says:

Hey, I like the sound, how much did it cost and how long did the install
take? Thanks!
