1989 Lincoln Town Car completed vacuum line repair

The car now has much, much better performance. I took it for a drive and the acceleration was back to normal. It now has the new crankcase filter in too.

Good to see more videos from you.

Do a vacuum test on it with it not running that will tell you a lot about the cars internals, disconnect the coil wire at the distributor, have a brick holding down the gas pedal, and turn it over several times, this will let you know the condition of valves sealing, I would also do a compression check, see how even the cylinders are..

that car runs very well , but that was when they still built a car , not junk like today …

towrecker says:

the new ethanol rated fuel hose is actually a good idea for the charcoal canister , and anything that could see fuel vapor , dang Ethanol eats rubber like crazy , it is killing our cars , so we have a choice , buy a “new” car , or fight the Ethanol …I think I will fight , what about you chad ? lol

the vacuum looks real good no sticky valves nothing

TheTarrMan says:

I believe the vacuum hose that Ford used is flared from age, not design. Nice job using the heavy duty hoses though, you certainly did a clean install. It should drive like new now, hope you don’t get any speeding tickets, lol.

Wow… it’s amazing how many vacuum lines they used back then…

WhoSaidTyler says:

Good work. That steady vacuum needle shows that the engine is mechanically in good shape.
